I think we'll see an explosion of meme software (to the extent that we aren't already). Previously, the difficulty of coding meant that it wasn't possible for those without coding skills to use software as a medium for memes. Now, as the difficult of production drops pretty much to zero, we're seeing software become ripe territory for meme content and UGC. I'd wager this is the thesis of teams like Danger Testing or A Vinyl Bar in Shibuya where apps are viewed more as content rather than as singular products.

I can't express any sort of anger in real life without this meme flashing before my eyes

It's really important to consider whether the anime girl in your pfp would say that

People keep blabbing about taste. What we should be blabbing about is effort.
Putting in effort is becoming more and more rare these days.
Taste implies you’ll just nail it on the first try, which I don’t really agree with

No one asked, but I kinda wanna give a crash course on how to engage in better media literacy cause i keep seeing posts like this.
The best thing you can do to improve is simple: meet a story where it's at, ideally without preconceived notions. 🧵

i’ve been outside the scene but as someone who competed for many years, and now as a polisci grad, i have much to say about the calls against participating in this tournament being collapsed into oversimplified mantras of “sportswashing.” (🪡)
