Kapag galing sa pagkakahiga at gusto nang bumangon, please do it slowly. Huwag biglang tatayo!
1️⃣ From lying down, sit up first. Dahan-dahang umupo sa gilid ng kama.
2️⃣ Pause for a while. Huwag munang tumayo agad. Give your body time to adjust. Check kung may hilo, panlalabo ng paningin, panghihina, or parang mahihimatay.
3️⃣ Stand up slowly. Kapag okay na ang pakiramdam, saka dahan-dahang tumayo. Kung nahihilo, umupo o humiga ulit.
Bakit kailangan ito? This is to help prevent orthostatic hypotension or postural hypotension.
Kapag bigla tayong nagpalit ng position, especially from lying down to standing, puwedeng bumaba pansamantala ang blood pressure. Dahil sa gravity, naiipon ang dugo sa lower extremities. As a result, temporarily nababawasan ang blood returning to the heart and the blood reaching the brain. Kaya puwedeng makaramdam ng dizziness, blurred vision, weakness, or even fainting.
Remember: Huwag magmadali sa pagbangon. A few seconds of pause can help prevent falls and injuries. Lalo na sa older adults, patients taking maintenance medications for blood pressure, and those who are recovering from an illness.
