The win of Putin's party United Russia is unsurprising, of course, though quite low numbers. But look at how much the Communist Party has gained - these are the folks who are nostalgic about the restoration the Soviet Union, among many other crazy things.

The Communist Party: 14.8%
LDPR (national-chauvinists): 9.9%
New People (liberal spoiling party): 8.6%
A Just Russia (Democratic Socialists) 5.5%
The Yabloko party was barred from the election by Russia’s Supreme Court after they made it public that they are against the invasion of Ukraine and started skyrocketing in the polls.
Other Russians wanted to vote for Nemtsov or Navalny but couldn’t for obvious reasons.

That is not what Catholicism teaches.
The Catechism explicitly says: “Our justification comes from the grace of God” and calls grace “the free and undeserved help that God gives us.” (CCC 1996)
It goes even further: “No one can merit the initial grace of forgiveness and justification.” (CCC 2010)
So accusing Catholics of believing they can work their way to Heaven is attacking a doctrine the Catholic Church explicitly rejects.
