Citron was found suffering from a condition where air becomes trapped in the chest due to a damaged lung. SeaWorld Orlando’s Rescue Team provided specialized veterinary care, including multiple surgeries and months of rehabilitation to restore her health.

On Sept. 8, an 800-pound distressed manatee was rescued in Miami. The manatee was transported to SeaWorld Orlando for specialized critical care and medical rehabilitation.

If you see an injured manatee, please contact the MyFWC Florida Fish and Wildlife's Alert Hotline at 888-404-FWCC (888-404-3922). When FWC staff find an injured, stranded, sick, or orphaned marine mammal, they contact SeaWorld Orlando’s Animal Rescue Team, on call 24/7.

Here's an update on the last four beluga whales rescued from Marineland Canada. Our animal care teams continue monitoring every new arrival around the clock, and it may take several months before these whales are fully settled in.

After becoming entangled in a crab trap in Indian River Lagoon, this manatee was rescued and transported to SeaWorld Orlando. Her injuries were so severe that our veterinary team had to amputate her right pectoral flipper. She’s healing, eating and receiving 24 hour care.

Over the past three years, the Yas SeaWorld Research & Rescue Center has worked to protect the Gulf’s marine life through rescue, research, education and community engagement. Every ticket purchased to SeaWorld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi supports the ongoing conservation efforts.
