I got a copy of Jennifer Andreu's correction action report from public records. @browardschools Board fired her last week related to her role in vendor selection issues cited in a Sept. 30 inspector general report. 1 of 5
The inspector general's office didn't identify specific policies Andreu violated, partly because the district lacked some key policies. For example, OIG found no policy that said district staff can't mislead the board, which the OIG alleges she did, though Andreu denies. 4 of 5

This is not the 1st time @browardschools have launched a war on Halloween, in 2023, @SuptlicataP banned employees from dressing up on Oct. 31 unless it was part of a school event. As you can tell from this post, I wasn’t a fan of that rule either.

Has @browardschools canceled Halloween? Apparently only in the north. I heard principals got a memo saying don’t use the word Halloween. @Johnjsully’s office checked. No memo from south or central offices. But the north regional supt. did send directive. To that, I say “Boo!”👻

I just heard from @debbi_hixon regarding this new rule about employee groups not getting to speak at regular board meetings. She said she was unaware of it & said @browardschools staff made rule without consulting the board. She expects it to be revisited at next board meeting.
.@browardschools, which has a history of trying to silence critics, enacted a new rule banning unions from giving reports at board meetings. Starting in Dec. they can give them at workshops. But in Oct & Nov. they must be sent electronically, where the public won’t hear them. END

At Tuesday’s @browardschools Board meeting, @bcpsleonardi kicked @afusco_BTU out, citing multiple disruptions. I knew one issue that upset Fusco is she felt administrator Jennifer Andreu, who was fired, was treated unfairly. But there was also another issue. 1 of 2
