“To reject this tax extension solely as a way to send a message of disgust will not accomplish anything, except to make life harder for Broward teachers, the vast majority of whom are highly dedicated,” @SoFlaOpinion writes.

Honored to attend the Broward County Public Schools Community Involvement Awards today 🎉
It was inspiring to see so many dedicated individuals, families, students, and community partners recognized for the incredible impact they make in supporting our students and schools. From volunteers to mentors, your commitment truly helps shape brighter futures.
Grateful to be part of a community that shows up, gives back, and believes in the power of education. Congratulations to all of today’s honorees—you deserve it! 👏

I’m not going to stand by while high-paid administrators are spared and teachers, counselors, and student support staff are put on the chopping block. Cut from the top. Not from our kids. More on this soon.

Trailblazing in action! Today, our School Board Member, @AdamCervera , stepped into the principal’s shoes at The Trail. From read-alouds to STEAM fun, he inspired our Trailblazers every step of the way! #TrailblazingHeroes #PrincipalForTheDay #TheTrail
Financial transparency and accountability are of the utmost importance to me. I am proud to have spearheaded measures ensuring that funds approved in any future referendum are dedicated exclusively to their stated goals: compensating our great teachers and keeping our schools safe! These resources must never be diverted to supplement the compensation of highly paid District staff. @smtravis @SunSentinel
BREAKING: The $1.2 MILLION public records outsourcing bid has been canceled. Funny what happens when someone starts asking questions. Taxpayers win.
So let me get this straight…
Replace two $50K employees with a $1.2 MILLION contract to do the same job?
Government math at its finest.
Should @browardschools replace 2
$50,000-a-year public records clerks with a 3-year outsourced contract that's proposed to cost $1.2 million over 3 years ($400,000 a year)? The proposed spend was posted in the minutes of a Dec. public meeting on MWBE goal setting.
Public records belong to the public. That’s why I pushed for answers — transparency matters.
Some @browardschools Board members seem skeptical of an effort to outsource the public records department. @adamcervera wanted a lot of details today. @Johnjsully looked uncomfortable trying to dodge questions about what happens to 2 employees handling public records now. 1 of 3
Wishing everyone a meaningful Presidents Day as we reflect on the leaders who helped shape our country. #PresidentsDay
When the District made the costly mistake of signing a long-term, multimillion-dollar lease, I pushed to lawfully terminate it. Instead of defending our position, the District just voted to hand over $270,000 to settle.
This is exactly what waste looks like. Watch my comments below 👇
When I learned that referendum dollars meant for teachers were being redirected to high-level District staff, I spoke up.
I called for an independent, outside investigation to find out how this happened, restore public trust, and put real safeguards in place so it never happens again.
Unfortunately, that call was rejected, meaning key questions remain unanswered.
Watch my comments from the meeting below.👇
Appreciate the shout-out. Proud to stand with parents and students - and deliver the graduation venues the Class of 2026 deserves.
Special thanks to Joyce Claxton, Lisa Quinn, Dianne Bishop, and Deidre Ferenc from Fort Lauderdale High for showing up and speaking out for the PTA.
👀 stay tuned.
Why haven’t @browardschools placed @AdamCervera’s item to discuss referendum bonus audit on Tues agenda yet? The deadline to sign up to speak was 1 pm today. But you can’t sign up if the item’s not posted. I’ve contacted @Johnjsully & got no response.
BREAKING: When our kids were at risk for being held out of competition, I sprung into action. Shined a light. Forced urgency. WGI has signed the agreement. Now let’s get it on Tuesday’s agenda and give our students the certainty they deserve!
Front page and for all the wrong reasons. Audit says process failed. Transparency failed. Oversight failed. I’ll be demanding real reforms and full accountability. Stay tuned.
Legal disputes shouldn’t put students in limbo weeks before competition. Families deserve clarity, not uncertainty. Transparency and urgency matter here, and I’ll be seeking full answers about how this reached this point.
