1/ Breaking barriers has defined my life since a young age. At 16, I became the first Black woman to win a gold medal from the prestigious France National Conservatory. I later shattered gender stereotypes as the first woman researcher at Stanford Robotics Lab. #BreakingBarriers

Four years ago, when I was going through cancer, I vowed to myself that if I survived, I'd devote the rest of my life to improving #cancer care.
Today I taught a radically innovative workshop to doctors @EmoryMedicine to improve cancer care for marginalized #patients!!! 🎯💯

I keep reading that Black patients have poorer outcomes because they are uninsured or live in rural areas. 🧐🧐
What I've observed in my research is that Black patients with insurance and transportation get denied cancer screening because doctors dismissed their symptoms.

Before 2018, the main thing I knew about cancer was that I didn’t want it.
Since then I’ve gone from “patient” to "health equity trailblazer," leading a $750K innovation grant at Emory Medicine as principal investigator.
Tomorrow, I’m giving a keynote speech at @theNCI.
