Institutions like ours weren't immune to the "Great Resignation," but our team is working to fill positions and bolster our diverse, student-serving employee team with a great company culture. theadvocate.com/acadiana/new…

Resigned to more openings: At SLCC, 'Great Resignation' created opportunities

There’s neither a mistake nor a “cattle call” involved in the long list of open positions posted on South Louisiana Community College’s website of late.

I gave two female welding students a little fabrication project to complete and they did an excellent job, everything thing was hand cut with Oxy fuel torch and welded with GTAW and GMAW. Doesn’t look like a lot of work but there is a lot of prepping to make these little grills. – at Lafayette, LA

Last year, I signed the MJ Foster Promise Program into law. This week, @Entergy pledged over $1 million to kickstart the program at @golctcs. This program will help remove the financial barriers for our adult citizens to access life-changing training and career preparation.
