Also I know it's just a planner or whatever, but ... Finalist did NOT need to go this hard. Absolutely sick
Finalist 4.2.3 just went live with even more iPhone Duo yumminess #DigitalPlanner
📓 DUO SPOTLIGHT: Finalist by @slaven remembers a different planner layout for each Duo pose.
Open for agenda + timeline; half-fold for a Desk Clock showing what’s now and next.
Released support. Free to try; full access costs extra.

I was wondering about this, since I got zero developer emails announcing HomeView (usually they're right on it when a new device comes out)
Wired's HomeView story is the only original reporting I can find that says third-party apps are supported via CarPlay.
CarPlay makes some sense as a way to push apps to the HomeView, but unless the entitlement is opened wider, it also makes no sense at all.
I suspect this is just the mechanism for audio and video apps and not a more general developer channel for making apps.

Thanks Will!
This is exactly the kind of thoughtful app design I want to see on the iPhone Duo. 👏
Instead of simply stretching an existing iPhone app across a larger display, you’re actually designing around the different ways people will use the device.
The tabletop planner layout is especially impressive.
This is how foldables become genuinely useful, not just a novelty.

I’m very curious how all the high-concept Duo apps that rely on the foldability of the device actually look/work on normal iPhones.. like Walkman, fridges, etc…
And it benefits iPhone, iPad and Mac as well, including the new landscape iPhone support (never thought I'd enable that!). I wrote it all up here finalist.works/intentional-p…
