ALT graphic revealing the cover of The Nature of Love by Sydney Langford, with the text “Coming May 11, 2027” above the words “COVER” in large red letters, overlaid with “reveal” in smaller black letters. In the center is the book cover that features a mountain landscape with snowy peaks, evergreen forests, a blue lake, and a meadow filled with purple, red, and yellow wildflowers. In the meadow, 2 teens stand hand-in-hand. One is a white teen with shaggy brown curls. He wears an orange fleece shirt, black pants, hiking boots, and a yellow backpack. The other is in a red short-sleeve shirt, khaki shorts, and has a blue hiking backpack. Their left leg has a black ankle-foot orthosis brace. “The Nature of Love” appears across the blue sky in large red lettering at the top. In the upper corner, the tagline reads, "Falling in love wasn't in the survival guide." Sydney Langford’s name is at the bottom in large white letters.

ALT Zane Kerrigan is a troublemaker. Well... according to his dad, who ships him off to summer camp instead of a family vacation. He quickly discovers mosquito bites pale in comparison to the grueling off-the-grid survival competition where contestants spend weeks trekking through Oregon’s harshest terrain. Worst of all? He’s paired with Leif “Nature Prodigy” Mackenzie. Leif is nothing if not a by-the-book survivalist. When given the chance to compete for a full-ride scholarship and impressive cash prize, they jump at it. Alongside their best friend, Cam, Leif aims to conquer the wilderness—even if their disability doesn’t always cooperate—so Zane’s addition to their team is an unwelcome surprise. After all, Zane thinks “roughing it” involves an air mattress. As survival challenges force them to work together, they realize their differences are the key to success—but in a competition where only one team can win, falling for your teammate might be the riskiest move of all…

ALT graphic showing “tropes” that The Nature of Love by Sydney Langford has. On the left is the cover, featuring a mountain landscape with snowy peaks, evergreen forests, a blue lake, and a meadow filled with purple, red, and yellow wildflowers, and 2 teens–one with shaggy brown hair, the other with short curly ginger hair–standing hand-in-hand. To the right are 6 torn paper labels listing themes/tropes. They read: “Nature’s biggest hater x Nature’s biggest fan”, “ADHD, hemiplegia, Tourette’s, and autism representation”, “The surviving-the-wilderness equivalent to a road trip romance”, “There’s only one shelter!”, “Acquaintances-to-Teammates-to-Enemies-to-Friends-to-Partners”, and “Touching grass: the novel”. Along the bottom is a dark red banner that reads: “Coming May 11, 2027”.

ALT Two 3D mockups of SOMEONE TO DAYDREAM ABOUT by Sydney Langford on an iPad and phone, the cover showing two teens—a pin haired white girl, and a blond Asian boy—looking at each other lovingly on a background of a dusky blue and pink cityscape. Black text above the 3D mockups reads: NOW AVAILABLE ON NETGALLEY AND EDELWEISS!

ALT Every teen knows 18-year-old Felix Song, lead singer of the most popular boy band since One Direction. Unfortunately Natalie Nielsen is no exception. But she thinks of him more as an annoying rich kid from her hometown than a heartthrob. Uninterested in stardom, she dreams of honoring her dad’s legacy & making a positive impact on her beloved Deaf community by revamping her family’s Deaf Center. The issue? She’s broke. When Felix's little sister's hearing loss accelerates, he gives Natalie a generous job offer that would secure the Center’s future: but she must accompany him on tour to teach him ASL. What begins as a professional arrangement soon morphs into stolen kisses & secret rendezvous. But as their connection deepens, so do the risks—& when their relationship takes center stage, it’s not only their hearts but Felix’s career on the line. Amid public scrutiny, contractual obligations, & meddling band members Natalie must decide if their dreams can co-exist in the spotlight

ALT A white page graphic with multicoloured fireworks in the corners. In the bottom left corner, the main character (a pink haired white girl) and love interest (a blond haired Korean boy) from SOMEONE TO DAYDREAM ABOUT are looking wistfully up at one another. Black text in the center of the graphic shows a quote from the book: Red, blue, yellow, and purple fireworks dance across the Schuylkill’s dark water and fill Philadelphia’s sky with a kaleidoscope of colors. But I can’t focus on the actual display. Felix is compressing his tall frame as he bends to rest his elbows on top of the glass wall; chin propped in his hands, rosebud lips turned up in a smile. I watch fireworks burst through his intense gaze. Every second, a new color shines in his midnight eyes, reflecting like an oil spill. I wonder how many girls would fall instantly and irrevocably in love with him if he cracked a smile half as dazzling as that one.

ALT A white page graphic with a blue banner hanging from the top. Text on the banner reads: happy Independence Day! But the word independence has been crossed out and BIRTH has been written over the top. Black text below the banner shows a quote from the book: Throwing an American pride-themed birthday party for a Kiwi is too good an opportunity to pass up. I transform the sleek, expensive hotel room into a red, white, and blue birthday wonderland. The real showstopper is the “Happy Independence Day!” banner I hung above the bed. Except I crossed out the word independence and wrote birth in its place. My finest work of art to date.
