Offer numbers from someone with 5 years of experience, currently making $300k/yr. They consider offers of $500k/yr so low that they're not even worth mentioning. I shopped around a bit and have found similar, in that large companies are willing to offer me >= 2x what I'm making.
Amazon (L6, senior): 660K per year (730K per year for the first 2 years), no refresher Cons: Difficult to get a promotion. Pros: Better pay compared to other offers. Notes: I'm worried about work-life balance, but an old colleague of mine who recently joined the same team thinks the WLB is good (at least in these 6 months that he has been there). Twitter (L6, senior): 590K per year (same for the first 2 years) including refresher Cons: Unpredictable stock value. Pros: Good work-life balance. Room for growth (promotion) Snapchat (L5, staff): 620K per year (same for the first 2 years) including refresher Cons: Poor work-life balance. Unpredictable stock value.
