I’m fed up with conspiracy theory nonsense. People are not calling 999 feeling breathless because they had a false positive covid test. Hospital ICUs are not filled with false positives covid cases. People are not dying of false positives covid results. Enough is enough.

This graph shows the total number of adults in critical care beds in London. The red line is this winter, the grey lines are the seven previous winters. Please RT for all those who seem to think we’re having a normal winter when it’s anything but.

There are no ITU beds in the valleys. So you might be 23 and invincible if you get COVID but what if you crash your car? Or a friend takes an overdose or a parent needs emergency surgery? Guess what! No beds for you either. And THAT’S how this affects everyone. Rant over.

It it ok to both realize a lockdown is needed to suppress COVID and protect health services, as well as despair at being in another lockdown.

Yes, a further lockdown will be awful, it will be detrimental to mental health, the livelihoods of many, and education. It will also be the right thing to do because left unchecked, it will overwhelm the NHS. We are already 🤏 from the edge. You can believe in both things.

Very scary times. Hospitals are back to where they were in Spring 2020 but with a more infectious strain of the virus & no similar lockdown to quickly bring cases down. If you’re tired of lockdowns think how tired NHS acute staff are. They can’t even take a few days off to rest.
