Beyond the Rocket: Why Nuris Fifth Launch Is the Start of Koreas Space Tourism Era💚💚💚💚 Congratulations to KASA, Hanwha Aerospace, and the entire Naro Space Center team on Nuri's fifth successful launch, which not only lifted its cumulative success rate to 80% but also proved Korea's capability to deploy multiple satellites with precision in a single mission, a defining milestone for the nation's space transport sovereignty💚💚💚💚 As annual launches scale toward a privately led commercial launch service by 2032, this is the moment for Korea to build the ecosystem around the rocket, space tourism, in-orbit services, and sustainable launch economics, so that reliable access to space becomes a platform for new global industries, not just a national achievement💛💛💛💛

Brussels taught me something I didn't expect💚💚💚💚 I went to the KOREA–EU Horizon Europe Researchers Consulting Forum to pitch a topic. I came back with a wonderful network 💛💛💛💛 Standing in front of that room, presenting Space Tourism as the Ultimate Testbed for Virtual Worlds Hardware for HORIZON-CL4-2027-04-HUMAN-01, I was reminded that a good idea only travels as far as the people willing to carry it with you. And people did (@OsmanSesliokuyucu @İnciPolatSesliokuyucu @ÜnalHayta @YunLiLee @limwengmarc @LimNinaShin @HoYoungLee @SohyeBae @KianMengYap @WoanNingLim @JavidIqbal @WaiChongChia @TeeHowTan). Over 2-3 days I sat across from potential coordinators and partners who leaned in, asked the hard questions, and offered to build something together. One conversation at a round table can change the trajectory of a proposal. Several of them did (Kristers Šabansks; Mihai Bâce; Dr. Christin Brings). None of this happens by itself. The Rejections Were Long, But Our Team Was Beautiful 💚💚💚💚 I am so thrilled to share that our paper on ESG standards for small and medium-sized tourism accommodations has finally been accepted at Tourism Management Perspectives! (Huge thanks to @CatherynKhoo & @TourismManagementPerspectives, by Elsevier) But the realstory behind this paper started three years ago. It began when @NamhyunKim so graciously invited me to join @ChaoMa's dissertation committee, an invitation I simply couldn't refuse. After Chao earned her PhD, we brought the brilliant Professor @TiffanyLegendre on board. Together, the four of us spent two long years fighting to bring this dissertation into a top-tier journal. We faced brutal desk rejections. We faced a heartbreaking rejection even after a second round of major revisions. We read decision letters that sat so heavily on our chests And yet... looking back, those two years weren't unhappy ones at all. Every single time bad news arrived, there was zero frustration among us. Instead, my amazing co-authors rushed to comfort each other first. Then, they would quietly step up, bravely volunteering to tackle the hardest, most daunting reviewer comments themselves. Nobody pointed fingers; everyone just rolled up their sleeves and lifted each other up 💛💛💛💛 Getting a paper into a top SSCI journal is undeniably hard. But this journey gave me something far rarer and much more precious: the chance to witness just how beautiful people's minds and hearts can be when they work together. I didn't just endure this process, I was genuinely happy and overwhelmingly grateful because I got to work with this exact dream team. Thank you so much, Chao, Tiffany, and Namhyun.
