built a native mac app that puts @hark_labs one keystroke away @adcock_brett
⌥space, type, enter. it knows what tab i'm on in yab (@korablev's browser), so i just say "summarize this" or "go do this" and it handles it
~95mb idle, 0% cpu, open source:

Imagine how awesome this would be in @hark_labs pro, it already kind of fits the ui vibe. @adcock_brett
Ok i feel bad. After using it way more @hark_labs cooked. It’s the best single agent product out there bar none. Incredibly reliable with strong underlying models (main drawback of muse). If they can keep the amount of usage for the 100 dollar plan the same then I’m a customer
Unfortunately, it's trash
There are a few really interesting ways that this could be monetized. The 1st I think is by selling it almost like software licenses. Every year you pay for underdog 2027 or 2028 or maybe even every few months and it comes with an upgraded model and upgraded harness, but if you want to just keep the current version you have, then that’s totally fine. The 2nd is paired with a hardware device, so this means that it could be a great acquisition target for Apple or OpenAI or even Meta who want to push forward their hardware ambitions, where every new generation of hardware gets a corresponding improved generation of the AI. And then 3rd is essentially an evolution on the first, but instead of paying for the software licenses, you pay a subscription for ongoing updates to the model and the harness system over time, and so it’s kind of like current ai subscriptions, but you actually get more value through unlimited usage and an ever improving AI that you have unlimited usage of
Introducing Underdog, your Private Personal AI on devices you already own
Today we're announcing our backing from @a16z @khoslaventures @HummingbirdVC Anthology (@AnthropicAI @MenloVentures) @patrickc @naval @rauchg @polynoamial @Thom_Wolf @Mascobot @tszzl @OfficialLoganK and other top AI leaders
Our mission is to provide free, capable, reliable and private AI to billions of people.
Underdog’s Law: today’s frontier intelligence reaches your devices in six months.
We’re starting with fast, capable AI that runs on consumer hardware. By co-designing models and inference engines, we’re pushing the frontier of capability, speed, power and data efficiency.
Our research also spans agentic commerce, confidential inference, and how AI will reshape the internet economy.
Privacy and capability no longer needs to be a tradeoff. If you believe in this future, join us. Time to build.
This sounds crazy when ur high
What Tobi is about to do today is one of the most insane things I’ve seen in athletic performance.
He will be racing for 2.5 hours straight. Before immersing myself in this sport for the past few days, I would have thought “oh that’s cool, he’ll be driving a fast car around a track.”
That is not what this is.
And why I have so much respect for him.
Tobi will be driving a car over 180 mph, experiencing up to 4.2 g of force. That will throw his body forward with 715 lbs of force and his head by 67 lbs.
Braking action requires up to 200 lbs of leg force.
The cockpit will average 104-122°F (40 to 50°C). His multi-layer suit barely allows for evaporation. This will cause his core body temperature to reach 102°F. I achieved this same body temp after 200°F of dry sauna for 34 min. It’s overwhelming. His heart rate will beat between 140-170 bpm.
He will sweat up to 170 fl oz (5 kg), losing 11 lbs of body weight. Some classes run driver cooling systems. His LMP2 doesn't.
Under these conditions, he will need to maintain perfect concentration for the entire 2.5 hours. He’s fighting for tenths of a second on every turn and every stretch.
One small slip up and trouble awaits.
Today it’s even more intense… it’s raining. The track is wet, scrambling everything.
He has to maintain spatial memory of every other car on the track, the complicated rules to avoid penalty, and constantly strategize overtaking other drivers, communicate with his team on the radio, watch for debris, be aware of slightest nuances of his car, and anticipate other drivers.
He did a practice run on Thursday and then a qualifying race yesterday, when he emerged from the car, he was a different human. Unrecognizable from the person who entered the car. Beaming with something like an omnipresence of reality.
We celebrate those who are especially good at kicking balls, shooting balls into baskets, and running with balls. What Tobi will do today is alien to those. I struggle to think of a sport equally as demanding.
Tobi and I have a lot in common. We’ve both built companies. We both spend a lot of time at the keyboard trying to organize the world in ways that we find beautiful. We both love data, method, and analysis. We both have a love for continuous improvement and will endure any pain required to achieve that next goal.
What I’ve not experienced is the unmatched flow state Tobi tells me he drops into when under these racing conditions.
I deeply understand what it means to achieve a 102°F core body temperature after 34 min in a 200°F dry sauna. I also know what 3 g’s feels like from being a pilot. These are extremely intense psychological states.
I know what it means to apply 200 lbs of pressure with my legs.
What I’ve never experienced is all these things, at the same time, for 2.5 hours straight, while maintaining perfect focus.
He is new to car racing. Late by racing standards. DHH got him into it a few years ago. During this first year of racing, he endured to overcome the extreme motion sickness that accompanies the physical and mental violence of the sport.
The race starts at noon eastern. Tobi will be driving for the first 2.5 hours and then @dhh will drop in, followed by Mathias Beche. The race will conclude at 10 pm.
I’ll be in the pit watching as all the data streams in from his car and body and imagining what it’s like to be in that car.
“Neolab like Cognition”
There has been a noticeable vibe shift in SF.
Up until last year, being a founder was the highest-status thing you could do.
Even if the company wasn't doing great, there was always something to brag about (if you don't get into YC you are at Founders Inc etc), and you would always be worthy of some admiration.
Now, being at a big lab (or a neolab like Cognition) seems to have become the highest-status thing you can do.
If your company isn't doing tremendously well, it might feel like you should be trying to join one of them.
Founders, treat this post as a sign. Keep going. Your dreams are priceless.
It's always an overnight success years in the making.
I’m really disappointed with how they are monetizing it. Maybe they are waiting for more proof of actually making money from transaction fees? But by that point the consumer market share race will be lost. They are officially a b2b company and Anthropic is better at that than they are
well i tried dot, and it was a bit disappointing
unfortunately felt poorly executed
there were 0 spark joy moments, a lot of little papercuts, animations/contrast/hierarchy feels off, latency too high...
here's an example flow that is delightful in muse and very meh in dot
i think openAI should focus more. Do less stuff but increase the amount of love poured into it. Grok Bot / Muse feel like products where lots of loved was poured in.
here's a concrete example: changing the picture and giving it personality is delightful and fluid in muse, but clunky and "the old way" in dot.
It’s fascinating how focused Meta is on normalizing the practice of calling your Muse by a personalized name. At Meta Connect, Zuck repeatedly mentions his Muse’s name, “Agrippa.” This is how you avoid people treating the agent like Siri or Alexa: by making it feel truly personal.
