In case it is, we're excited to share Brian's recent work on the expanded role of LIRs in autophagy (spoiler alert: they do much more than bind LC3). Huge thanks to all who were involved in this study!
North, Shoemaker et al. @GeiselMed define the LC3-interacting region (LIR) of NBR1 as a multifunctional binding site that recruits ATG8 proteins, FIP200, and TAX1BP1 to drive autophagic flux. hubs.la/Q035-K7N0
