On a per capita basis, Jews have created far more value for humanity than any other ethnic group. No others are even close. From Moses to Spinoza to Einstein they have produced one intellectual giant after another. I could have named a hundred others of that caliber. Yet everywhere they go they are targeted for extermination. That is called extreme ingratitude. I urge Trump and the US Congress to grant every Israeli automatic US citizenship. If all 10 million Israelis came to live in the US it would raise the avg IQ in America 10-20 points and be an ongoing source of scientific innovation and artistic creativity like the world has rarely seen.

Dear President Trump, Thomas Sowell is an American treasure. Please consider honoring him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. I can’t think of a greater representative of American values.

When I was young, I believed smart people always saw things clearly and were thus immune to terrible ideas. What I've realized since then is that they do often embrace bad ideas, but unlike dumb people, they're good at coming up with sophistry in defense of those ideas.

A friend reviewing Harvard applications remembered one student clearly: he had dropped out of high school, joined a Buddhist monastery for a year, then finished school. Great academics, yes. But among hundreds of applications, that's the one she remembered and recommended. When you're reading through piles of identical resumes—4.0, 1550, student council, community service—you notice the ones that are different. A purpose-driven life produces a distinctive application. The grind produces indistinguishable ones.

Fighting against the state or working within it is fruitless. Everything the state does is based on coercion. As the leading citizens of Classical Athens knew, majority-rule democracy, no matter how it is constrained, always devolves into chaos. Look around you for the evidence.

For a pragmatic alternative to the political state, read the book, Blueprint for a Spacefaring Civilization by John Deming and Mike Hamel. The solution was originally conceived by an astrophysicist based on sound scientific principles. We explain that alternative in simple, precise terms.

Higgs concludes that political states are wasteful, clumsy, and inept at almost everything they do, with one exception. "States are exceptionally good at wreaking death and destruction. Indeed, if they were not, they could not sustain themselves as states. In a functional sense, we can define the state as an organization with a comparative advantage in deliberately killing people and appropriating and destroying wealth."

In the words of historian Robert Higgs: "In the past century alone, states have caused hundreds of millions of deaths—not [just] to the combatants of both sides of the many wars they've launched—but to their own populations, who they have chosen to shoot, bomb, hack, stab, beat, gas, starve, work to death, and obliterate in ways too grotesque to contemplate. J. R. Rummel, who has spent a lifetime compiling data on political democide (non-war state killing), has a total of 262 million democide victims in the twentieth century."

The belief in the political state is an error. The state depends on seizing its citizens' property to fund its wars and graft. The state attacks producers who provide us with everything we use to get thru the day. Yet it depends on profit-seeking entrepreneurs for its funds.
