I have been vocal about using the defensive capabilities of AI for good. So am putting my money (time) where my mouth is by joining this fantastic effort led by @AnneNeuberger with an incredible group of people.
Small cities, school districts and rural hospitals guard our most sensitive data with the fewest resources to defend it. Today we’re launching Securing America’s Infrastructure Foundation, a new nonprofit, bringing AI-powered cyber defense to them at no cost. SAIF starts with focused goals for on the ground impact and $25M in committed funding by a16z's founders. I’m joined by a founding board of Brian Barrios, @GoldsmithOnGov, Bob Lord, @vishalmisra and @philvenables. If you lead a small city, rural school district or hospital system or want to join our team, please reach out: [email protected] Read our full announcement here: a16z.news/p/introducing-secu…

Please share widely! This guide is more urgent and relevant today than ever before.
With the recent reports of a thwarted mass shooting plot targeting a Hindu place of worship in Illinois and an attack on a Hindu temple in Ohio just two weeks ago, temple safety and security are more urgent than ever. Every Hindu should be able to worship without fear. While we are grateful to law enforcement for responding to threats, protecting our mandirs also requires awareness, preparedness, and community vigilance. HAF’s Temple Safety and Security Guide offers practical steps to help Hindu temples strengthen security and prepare for potential threats. Please share this resource with your local mandir leadership and community. Preparedness matters, and every temple deserves to be a safe place of worship. 🔗 Read and share HAF’s Temple Safety and Security Guide 👉f.mtr.cool/1mnkdjhudr

Man, we have incredible institutions. And i’ve always felt they should be part of our pop culture, not just our curriculum. So I teamed up with @A47merch to design six jackets for ISRO. Which ones would you wear? The top three go into production. 1–4 here, 5 and 6 below. 🚀

Democracy is dead in India! I have lost a 500-ruper note and I believe my neighbour stole it. I don't have any proof that he did, but he, too, is not proving that he didn't. I am thinking of marching to Delhi to demand resignation of the RBI Governor.

And that someday is the @IABTechLab Ttrusted Server. As an industry, we can no longer operate in the browser. It is time to move the entire open web ad stack server side. Trusted Server does that in a turnkey solution. Open-source and free to all.
What publishers once filed under someday now has a deadline, and Apple set it. buff.ly/7djASqZ

Apple’s latest Safari restrictions are another reminder of why publishers need greater control over their advertising infrastructure. Great coverage from Digiday on the growing importance of the IAB Tech Lab Trusted Server. Trusted Server enables publishers to: ✅ Regain control of their advertising technology and infrastructure. ✅ Restore addressability and measurement signals in restricted environments. ✅ Improve performance and efficiency through secure, server-side execution. ✅ Protect consumer privacy while unlocking new monetization opportunities. And most importantly, Trusted Server is production ready TODAY! This isn’t just about responding to browser restrictions. It’s about creating a more resilient, privacy-conscious, publisher-controlled advertising ecosystem. The technology is ready. Let’s put it to work! digiday.com/media/apples-saf… #IABTechLab #TrustedServer #AdTech

A bit sad to hear about Nana Patekar’s passing. Easily one of the greatest actors in Bollywood. I remember watching him first time in Sutradhar and have watched all his movies since then. Elegant effortless acting whether it was drama, action or comedy. You will live with us through your movies. May your soul join with parmatma 🙏🏽

And then there was this side of him xitter.cf/fintech03/status/21080…
Nana Patekar died today at 75 ( hardly follow Indian cinema these days, but a few of his films and performances still feel incredibly fresh). At 13 he painted cinema posters for Rs35 a month and one meal. In college he painted zebra crossings for Rs15. His J.J. professor, theatre director Damu Kenkre, paid for his education, fees and art supplies. Rs750 in all. Nana never returned it. His reason: "it's beautiful to live under the shadow of obligation of a loved one." Later he set aside money for a new car. After seeing farmers' deaths he gave it to Makarand Anaspure to distribute. In Beed he met widows and said "I knew then that I had to continue this work until I died." That became NAAM, started in 2015 with Makarand. The work grew past giving money: educating farmers, saving water, reviving canals and abandoned water projects. He said the name is the Warkaris' mark on the forehead, an oath to keep doing the work until death. He said that in 2015. Today he is gone.

This comes as a shocking surprise to me when the standard and standard method of measurement already exists for Ctv. With Open Measurement SDK #omsdk you can measure in a standard and consistent manner while choosing your preferred vendor. It provides all the raw signals for impression counting so you can compare across all provider and channels. If there is one area everyone needs to use a standard it’s counting. Companies should not differentiate their product on counting but in value added capabilities. OMSDK provides the counting for impressions and viewability. Just don’t get why measurement companies try to not adopt a standard.
Same campaign. Same demo. Same quarter. But Comscore counted 43.5 million impressions and iSpot counted 24.6 million. Somewhere, a CMO’s head explodes. That gap is the result of an interesting new piece of research presented in Warner Bros. Discovery's white paper "The Unified Reach Paradox," which put VideoAmp, iSpot, Comscore, Innovid and Samba side by side across 50+ campaigns. WBD's own research chief calls the variance "quite alarming." I'd call it a 77% spread putting measurement in question altogether. The Industry’s Irony It’s an irony that as an industry, we can’t get measurement straight, the thing that just involves counting. The thing we were supposed to nail before getting fancy with identity graphs, co-viewing and personification. WBD's David Porter says it's "kind of crazy" we still debate what a video impression is. One could find stronger language. The buyer survey accompanying the research project backs him up: 73% name unified reach a top missing data point, and 79% don’t fully trust outcomes without it. So the whole outcomes gold rush - CAPIs, attribution, ROAS decks - rests on numbers nobody agrees on. What Should Happen Tomorrow Perhaps we can have an advertising kumbaya. Standardize impression and viewability definitions, industry-wide, YouTube included. Align universe estimates, or disclose the recipe. Slap a nutrition label on every projection model. One more thing: the biggest name in TV measurement skipped the bake-off. Nielsen doesn't do side-by-sides. Make of that what you will. adexchanger.com/tv/new-wbd-r…

If there was ever a better use case for the @IABTechLab Trusted Server, I can’t think of any. We’ve predicted this at the Tech Lab for the last three years. Go server side. iabtechlab.github.io/trusted…
