As we approach 161 years since the abolition of slavery this Juneteenth, let us ask ourselves: What must we do to end the war on Black America, once and for all?
Tune in this Thursday to discuss this question and more ⤵️
✊🏾JUNETEENTH WEBINAR, THURS, JUNE 18, 8PM ET/5PM PT: Join us for a necessary webinar discussion on Juneteenth and the fight for Black liberation today.

This June 19 marks 161 years since the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas were officially declared free. All across the country, Juneteenth celebrations are commemorating this historic milestone of the Black liberation movement.
As Trump and the far-right ramp up their attacks on working people broadly in an attempt to rewrite our history and strip us of our civil rights entirely, we are confronted with a critical question: what must we do to end the war on Black America, once and for all?
Originally born from the struggle for abolition, Juneteenth was made into a federal holiday in 2021 in the aftermath of the valiant struggle against racist police terror. Juneteenth reminds us of the will that our people have always had to fight, the role that fight has historically played in achieving the basic rights we have today, and the necessary role of organization in our ongoing fights for freedom.
Hear and discuss with PSL organizers and cultural workers Claudia De la Cruz (NYC), Jasmine Nicole Williams (Atlanta), Rachel Domond (Houston) and Saidi Moseley (NYC) on the real history of the struggle for Black liberation in the U.S. and what it will fundamentally require of all of us to achieve it today.

🚨Good news. Cuba managed to refine its high-density and viscosity crude oil for the first time in a successful experimental trial, producing marketable diesel, naphtha and fuel.

Cuban President Diaz-Canel to NBC: if Cuba is so incapable, so closed-off, so uninnovative -- why has the US spent 60+ years and millions of taxpayer dollars trying to crush it?
"Why don't they let us fall on our own, if that's what they believe?"

When North Koreans came to Somalia they built a dam/water system.
What Canadians came, they brought rape and torture to a 16 year old boy.
Tell me again who are the human rights violators.

I’m Canadian. You can still list off things about my country if it makes you feel better.
It’s not going to change the fact that North Korea is a human rights nightmare.

This is Hossam’s team, and we are sharing his final message :
“If you’re reading this, it means I have been killed—most likely targeted—by the Israeli occupation forces. When this all began, I was only 21 years old—a college student with dreams like anyone else. For past 18 months, I have dedicated every moment of my life to my people. I documented the horrors in northern Gaza minute by minute, determined to show the world the truth they tried to bury. I slept on pavements, in schools, in tents—anywhere I could. Each day was a battle for survival. I endured hunger for months, yet I never left my people’s side.
By God, I fulfilled my duty as a journalist. I risked everything to report the truth, and now, I am finally at rest—something I haven’t known in the past 18 months . I did all this because I believe in the Palestinian cause. I believe this land is ours, and it has been the highest honor of my life to die defending it and serving its people.
I ask you now: do not stop speaking about Gaza. Do not let the world look away. Keep fighting, keep telling our stories—until Palestine is free.”
— For the last time, Hossam Shabat, from northern Gaza.

All those who care about free speech around the world must speak up and condemn the systematic targeting of journalists by the Israeli apartheid regime. The Israeli military has killed yet another journalist documenting the atrocities in Gaza, targeting Al Jazeera’s Hossam Shabat. This comes shortly after the killing of Palestine Today journalist Mohammad Mansour in Khan Younis. Our Palestinian colleagues risk their lives to expose the truth. There is no excuse for any to go silent.

TODAY: Protesters gathered outside the ICE detention center in rural Jena, Louisiana where Mahmoud Khalil is being held, making noise to support him while his first hearing was taking place back in NYC. Activists say he was intentionally moved far away from his lawyers and family, and that his due process is being violated. But clearly, wherever the state puts him, he will have supporters nearby.
