my aunty passed away a few years ago and i didn't know how to be there for my cousin. i had never experienced grief in that way. unfortunately my dad then passed away the next year and i text him one day to apologise because i wasn't there for him.

today i was just messaging a friend i hadn't spoken to in a whole. he told me his mum passed away and i immediately picked up the phone to call him, because i now understand what grief feels like.
