Working to place families’ interests at the center of our shared energy future is what my team is out there doing everyday.
📣 Big news out of Pennsylvania on data center accountability! 📣
Gov. Josh Shapiro has issued an executive order that holds data centers accountable for their energy use, eliminates fast-track approval for them, and establishes a commitment to powering them with an increasing percentage of clean energy.
But we need legislation to bolster this important step.
If you're a Pennsylvanian, thank the governor and urge the Senate to pass legislation: action.votesolar.org/a/pa26-…

Making use of private and community deployment of distributed clean energy assets is a no brainer going forward. We all have a stake in a decarbonized future and we will get there faster with shared, collaborative participation.
This is a huge win for leveraging smart solar solutions to strengthen our grid and lower our bills.
From Vote Solar's Midwest Regulatory Director Will Kenworthy, "We are excited to see ComEd move quickly to stand up the Scheduled Dispatch Virtual Power Plant... It’s a model for how the clean energy transition can save people money."

Distributed solar CAN be cheaper than utility scale, especially if you count T&D costs.
Homes already have an interconnection, structure, etc.
Most of the world can do distributed solar for <$1/W, and in many cases <$0.5/W.

This is an interesting idea: rooftop solar can free up space on the grid for things like AI (or EVs and heat pumps while were are here). It completely undercuts the anti-rooftop disinformation campaign that the utilities have been waging for years. fastcompany.com/91409132/why…
Truth is we are moving in the wrong direction and Sierra Club has the receipts!
‼️ NEW: A new Sierra Club report shows that U.S. utilities are doubling down on expensive fossil fuels instead of investing in affordable, clean energy. Is your utility making you pay for pricey, dirty energy?
