Time to give the Smithy MCP a large update, with Kiro. smithymcp.com/ Hopefully it now stays more up to date, provides even more examples and samples and will be even more useful. github.com/ryancormack/smith… #BuildWithKiro #TeamKiro @kirodotdev

LLMs often install the wrong version of a package. I've created a Kiro Hook that ensures the latest version is installed AND pinned, stopping old packages and preventing auto updates, causing supply chain attacks. Video and demo youtu.be/SlDYgDsyezg github.com/ryancormack/car-t…

I was writing some Python the other day and it occurred to me that over the last couple of years I've written and shipped C#, JS, TS, C++, Go and Python to prod. The fundamentals are all so similar, and combined with AI it's much easier to read and write multiple languages

Check them out: - DAT404 (My talk on advanced data modeling w/ DDB) - DAT406: Deep dive into DDB w/ @amrithkumar - DAT419: Architecture choices in DDB w/ @josephidziorek + @amrithkumar (prob the talk I'm most looking forward to this year 💯) - DAT305: Data modeling core concepts w/ Jason Hunter + Sean Shriver

Never seen anyone complain about being vendor locked in to Crowdstrike. Nor seen anyone ever say we need to be active active multi end point security 🤷🏼‍♂️

Sunk way too much time into hitting head off wall trying to figure out why my IAM policy wasn't working. Turns out my tightly scoped permission set ended in `aws:arn:.:/thing/* ` rather than `aws:arn:.:/thing/*`. The Lambda UI trimmed the white space and I missed it locally 😭

Power cut at home. First time in a while I've been coding without CoPilot. It's crazy how much time you spend doing stuff like writing generic boilerplate parameters. It's making it super clear how useful CoPilot is for writing code

First it was "my code is compiling". Then it was "my code is deploying". Now we'll need to find another reason to take a break

I'm not the first to say 🤔, and I know I won't be the last, but wow. The LLRT Javascript runtime on Lambda is fast 🚀. Init Duration is super low, and memory use even lower 🤯. Has loads of benefits to your wallet and the customers experience. Full post coming soon! 📖

I've spent some time recently comparing Lambdaliths against thin/dedicated functions serving API traffic. Turns out Lambdaliths are pretty fast 🚀 and the whole DX around them is quite nice. Got a writeup here, medium.com/@ryan.cormack/com…
