Vance: "I've never met Putin in person. I've spoken to him on the phone. He was calmer than you might expect. The American media has a stereotype of him. He's very deliberate and measured in his words.
I think, at his core, he's someone who cares about Russia's interests as he sees them. One reason he respects the President is that he recognizes the President cares about the interests of the American people."

Drones are this century’s plague. NATO overestimates its readiness for the Russian tech pressure Ukraine now holds back.

“We are going through an energy shock. Ukraine has decided that they want to blow up Russian energy assets. This is creating pressure on prices globally,” – Bessent.
Ukraine has “decided”?
Are you fucking kidding me???
Russia has spent years bombing our power plants, destroying our energy infrastructure, attacking our cities and trying to freeze Ukrainians in winter.
Ukraine didn’t wake up one morning and “decide” it would be fun to attack Russian energy infrastructure.
We are fighting a fucking war of survival because RUSSIA INVADED US.
So sorry about your “energy shock.”
We’re experiencing the slightly bigger inconvenience of trying not to fucking die.

Please return to the bargaining table and resume all flights. This strike is causing unnecessary stress to all passengers which we do not deserve. Passengers have paid lots of money for their flights and bookings....do not hold the passengers hostages in the summer!

Canada's industrial relations record in the airline industry is a complete joke.
This is the THIRD time since 2024 that one of Canada's national airlines has been completely shutdown due to a labor disruption.
Add to that two other disputes which resulted in hundreds of cancellations even though agreements were reached at the very last minute.
A total of FIVE major aviation disruptions in 3 years impacting hundreds of thousands of Canadian travelers who have likely lost tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars in lost deposits and cancelled trips.
Compare that to the U.S. where the last airline strike was 16 years ago (Spirit Airlines in 2010) and the last major national airline strike was 21 years ago (Northwest Airlines in 2005). You'd have to go back to 1993 to find the most recent one before that.
Meanwhile, U.S. pilots and flight attendants are among the best paid in the world while several U.S. airlines rank among the world's largest and most profitable.
Canada can either continue to stick its head in the sand and pretend this is just the normal way of doing things or it can wake up.
Canada's broken industrial relations system which places the interests of the public last once again.
Every single day of this strike will impact 60,000 to 70,000 mostly Canadian travelers most of whom will have no alternative.
Summer peak flights on other airlines are either already heavily booked. Deposits for hotels will be lost. Weddings, cruises and other immovable events will be missed. But it isn't just vacations. Funerals. Trips vital appointments. Job interviews.
Canada treats transportation the same way as it treats factories. The system rewards brinksmanship, posturing and intransigence.
There are better ways and it starts with putting Canadians first.

As evidenced by the unbridled promotion and implementation of technology at the expense of human dignity, we are truly experiencing an eclipse of the sense of what it means to be human. It is imperative to recover an understanding of the true meaning and grandeur of humanity as intended by God. It is in this sense that the challenge we currently face is not technological, but anthropological, and it is my hope that the Encyclical Letter to be published within a few days will contribute to answering this challenge.

Today marks the 40th anniversary of the tragic Chernobyl incident, which left a lasting mark on the conscience of humanity. It serves as a warning about the inherent risks in the use of increasingly powerful technologies. We entrust those who died and all who still suffer from the aftermath of the disaster to God’s mercy. I hope that discernment and responsibility will always prevail at every level of decision-making, so that every use of atomic energy may be placed at the service of life and #Peace.

The Catholic Church has consistently taught that each human life, from the moment of conception until natural death, is sacred and deserves to be protected. Indeed, the right to life is the very foundation of every other human right. For this reason, only when a society safeguards the sanctity of human life will it flourish and prosper.

Edmonton Mayor Andrew Knack is an object lesson in how the Canadian left has lost its moral bearings.
He is attacking Edmonton’s Police Chief for a study trip to Israel with other big city chiefs.
But within weeks of becoming Mayor, Knack flew to the People’s Republic of China for an official visit.
So let’s compare:
ISRAEL
- The Middle East’s only real democracy.
- Famously independent judiciary that includes Arab judges, a system that has sentenced Israeli Prime Ministers, Presidents, and IDF officers when found guilty of crimes.
- Has a dynamic Parliamentary system that includes Arab parties who have been part of governing coalitions, and held the balance of power.
- The only modern state founded by an ancient indigenous people in their historic lands after millennia of colonial occupation and genocide. The most successful historical example of decolonization.
- The only Jewish state on Earth, whose raison d’être is to be a refuge for the victims of history’s most durable and pernicious hatred, born out of the ashes of the Holocaust.
- Has been attacked by hostile armies repeatedly, including on the very day of its creation and recognition by the UN.
- Has been the target of endless campaigns of violence by groups recognized under Canadian law as terrorists, including a pogrom two years ago involving mass rape and kidnapping that was the largest massacre of Jews since 1945.
- Relative to its size, is the most innovative economy in the world, with more per capita patents, successful tech startups, and Nobel prizes than any nation on Earth.
- The world’s most experienced police agencies in dealing with terrorism.
PRC
- Dictatorial one party state
- Seven decades of violent oppression of political dissidents, ethnic, and religious minorities
- The destruction of tens of thousands of Buddhist (mainly Tibetan) monasteries and temples; Muslim mosques; Christian Churches, and other places of worship
- The ongoing prosecution of an active genocide (according to the Parliament of Canada, et al) against the Uyghur Muslim minority
- The invasion, despoliation, and partial ethnic cleansing of Tibet.
- History’s largest state sanctioned famine, the Great Leap Forward, during which 30 to 45 million people were killed.
- Until recently, a brutally enforced One Child Policy that involved countless forced abortions and sterilizations
- The continued use of forced labour concentration camps
- The long standing world leader in executing people.
- Currently engaged in the largest military expansion in world history
- The publicly declared intent to use that military power to invade Taiwan, a peaceful neighbouring democracy, by 2027.
- An expansionist / imperialist agenda in the South China Sea, including the creation of artificial islands as military bases, the harassment of Filipino & other fishing & naval fleets
- Flagrant violation of Hong Kong’s Basic Law, including elimination of political and press freedoms, and the imprisonment of dissidents like Jimmy Lai.
- Massive industrial and political espionage, including against Canadian targets, involving patent and IP theft
- Massive interference in Canadian elections through the United Front Work Department
- 25+ years of violating WTO obligations through massive unfair trading practices, currency manipulation, subsidization of key industries, et
- Repeated arbitrary application of tariffs against Canada, including Alberta canola farmers during Knack’s PRC visit
- Arbitrary arrest & imprisonment of Canadians, including diplomats, and Canadian Muslim Hussein Ceilil who has been imprisoned, without consular access, since 2006.
- World’s largest & fastest growing source of GHG emissions.
- Key ally of the world’s worst regimes, including Putin’s Russia and the Mullahs’ Iranian terror state.
Etc.
Let the record show that Edmonton’s “progressive” Mayor kowtows to the world’s largest dictatorship, but condemns the democratic Jewish homeland.
For shame
