EMURGO & Yoroi DRep Update: Upcoming Changes to Our DReps
As we continue to support affected users of the @secondfiapp security incident and make further progress towards the recovery phase, we want to give notice of two governance decisions: our immediate resignation from the @IntersectMBO board and our intention to de-register our DRep role in Cardano governance in due course.
Both decisions reflect our focus on directing our full attention and resources toward the recovery effort and ensuring affected users are properly supported through this process. We recognize that our seat on the Intersect board and our DRep role each represent meaningful responsibilities within the Cardano governance ecosystem and we do not take the decision to step back from either lightly.
When you migrate your wallet, it will be automatically undelegated from both your stake pool and your DRep. You will then be free to choose a new DRep that best represents you.
We will share full guidance, including timing, as the migration tool launches.

We have identified the root cause and have since rolled out a patch for all unaffected wallets. This will allow us to resume normal operations soon.

Regarding affected wallets, 4 distinct draining events occurred. 3 were executed by external threat actors, resulting in a loss of ~16m ADA across 374 addresses.
To prevent total loss during the active exploit, emergency rescue measures were triggered to secure the available ~129m ADA and continues to be routed to an independent, qualified third-party custodian, where they are held securely for the benefit of the affected wallet addresses.
An external accounting firm has been engaged for a special audit to independently verify those holdings.
We are working to facilitate the verification process so users can claim back their assets safely. Affected users should submit their claim at support.secondfi.io
We take this incident seriously and are working to ensure all assets are returned to affected users as soon as possible.
As stated, we have identified the root cause, it is at the address level. Please DO NOT RESTORE your recovery phrase into another Cardano wallet, this does not mitigate the security risk. The security risk occurs when an affected user signs a transaction.

To provide more clarity, we have identified the nature of the incident, it is at the address level. The security risk affects wallet users when a transaction is signed.

Yoroi & Emurgo have a staggering voting power of 1.0111 billion. they are the same entity as stated.
Both combined voting power now sits at 16.9% of the entire of Cardano governance delegated stake, this also means they have the ability to vote on treasury withdrawals which need just 67% pass rate, which is extremely concerning.
I am absolutely appaled at both the way this is being handled, the care of Cardano and the response above which almost shrugs off these concerns.
Then, additionally both Emurgo & Yoroi are using this voting power to vote on proposals they are involved in (Pentad) (Critical Integrations Budget). We can't pretend we have a governance system when founding entities like Emurgo try their very best to claw back control. This is a direct threat to Cardano, and for the Pentad to continue, in which I hope it does, I do not think Emurgo should play a part. I have supported for a long time, today you just lost my confidence and support, and many others in the community.

6億ADAの委任量が、同一のチームが運営するプール群に委任されていることが判明しました。Yutaさんは、このチームの「広告塔」として活動していたそうです
「体制を変更する」そうですが、データから、技術担当への依存度は極めて高いことがわかります。ガバナンスにおける脅威と言わざるを得ません。

I deeply apologize for my lack of ability and awareness. Yes, some of these pools are run by teams.
Initially, I was in charge of extensive advertising for some of these pools and some technical support. After receiving various criticisms, I decided to remove these advertisements from all my activities. However, technical support is still ongoing.
I also planned to work on reducing the proportion of technical support, but I have not been very successful. This has always been put off due to my and their busy schedule. In 2025, I will focus on this. Ultimately, I will support them to reduce the proportion of technical support to zero and become completely independent.
I will also remove the advertisements for my DRepID

Following @iohk_charles tweet from this morning, as a precautionary measure, we have temporarily disabled the adahandles function in the Nami wallet.
Our team is working diligently to implement a permanent fix that we expect to issue soon. Thank you all for your patience!
I'm just coming up to speed on Nami. We've put together a weekend team to investigate an issue involving Nami's implementation of ADAHandles.
The one issue that has been identified is a delay in fetching ADAHandles whereby if users are typing in handles, i.e. "$NFT" and then "$NFTs", there is a delay in updating the destination from $NFT to $NFTs.
The team is disabling ADAhandles within Nami as an immediate backstop to prevent this from occurring until we fully develop and test a solution. The disabling code has been written and pushed to Google and we are waiting on their approval, which usually takes 1-2 hours.
Lace users are unaffected. Nami users take a break for a few hours while the team finishes the initial investigation of the acquired code and temporarily disables the impacted features.
I understand how frustrating these issues can be to those impacted. It's one of the reasons we bought Nami so that we could migrate the great experience to a codebase that is maintained using IOG's engineering standards. Unfortunately, this migration takes time and bugs like these could be lurking in the acquired codebase.
If you think you've been impacted, X isn't the medium to broadcast it. When we finish the initial investigation, we'll include a form that you can fill out so we can examine each incident on a case by case basis. So far, this seems to have only impacted a few users.
