Rwanda’s mineral export revenues rose 4.1% in 2025, increasing from US$1.75 billion in 2024 to US$1.82 billion, according to the latest sector update. The industry accounted for 3% of national GDP, based on an overall economy valued at US$16.372 billion, while the government is targeting US$2.17 billion in annual mineral export revenues by 2029.
The growth reflects years of policy reform, investment promotion, and institutional stability under President @PaulKagame’s leadership.
His administration has prioritized a business friendly environment, infrastructure development, stronger governance, and long term economic planning, helping position mining as a key contributor to Rwanda’s export performance and broader transformation agenda.

Our Nyakabingo mine is Africa's largest tungsten producer, and the only mine on the continent supplying the United States directly.
The US produces no primary tungsten. Nyakabingo now supplies up to 20% of the primary concentrate it consumes, shipped to @GlobalTungsten in Pennsylvania via offtake partner Traxys.
@FRANCE24 came to Nyakabingo to see how that supply chain works, and how it is verified.
