I consider this to be one of the most important things I've written. Mileage-building is often a confusing topic and the "10% Rule" isn't helping anybody. Know your "baseline mileage" and you'll build mileage smarter: buff.ly/2Uf9j13

The "shoe cushioning paradox": why do runners seem to hit the ground harder when wearing cushioned shoes, and yet get fewer injuries? It has to do with the timing of the impact(s), according to research by @LaurentMalisoux. outsideonline.com/health/run…

On kysytty, mikä minulle on tullut kun vastustan #elvytyspaketti'a. Kysykää, mikä monille puolueille on tullut. korhola.com/lang/fi/2020/09/…

Very cool stuff: detailed lab and track testing data from the 16 finalists in Nike's Breaking2 selection process. Biggest surprise to me: average VO2max was "only" 71.0 ml/kg/min, and only one runner above 77 (I have my suspicions about who that was!). outsideonline.com/2418570/ni…

When it comes to training, everything has tradeoffs. Do lots of strength, endurance, or speed work and the rest are all impacted. It's not in having the highest level of each at the same time, it's in finding the balance for the athlete and the demands of the event.
