🏅 DUTCH HALF MARATHON CHAMPION Great to take another Dutch title, almost 10 years after the last one & after many 2nd & 3rd places in recent years. Had a great battle in warm conditions with Nik Lemmink, which was only decided after 18 km. Podium completed with Frank Futselaar

11th place in 28.31 at the Europacup 10.000m last Saturday. Reasonably happy with the result in such a strong field and also with the time considering the temperature (28 °C)

New study where we assessed 1) Real-world accuracy of 57 CPET systems 2) Inter-unit variability Key finding: Significant variability, even between identical units: 1.98%–12.7% for V̇O2, 1.49%–8.10% for V̇CO2 More details and link to paper in the comments

We also highlight a few case studies to show common reasons for CPET errors

🔹 Passing manufacturer calibration checks did not guarantee measurement accuracy 🔹 Inter-unit variability exceeded test–retest variability, raising concerns about using devices interchangeably within a lab 🔹 Neither system age nor annual maintenance predicted accuracy

9th overall & 1st Dutch male in 62.46 at Venloop Half Marathon Great to race again! Ran a very stable race without pushing too much (except for the last km to catch the 1st group paces), so this gives confidence towards the next races

New study where we determine 1 How reliable are CPET systems & how much do biological & technological variability contribute to overall test-retest variability? 2 (Re-)assessment of Calibre, VO2 Master, Vyntus, KORR during simulated and human exercise onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…

- CPET inaccuracies can affect many outcomes. For example, cycling efficiency ranged between 17.8-20.9%, thus showing CPET inaccuracies can significantly influence estimates of cycling efficiency
