I really, really don't want to get dragged into this, because she's substantively wrong - but there is a grain of truth to the fact that biological sex (actually probably previous pregnancy) changes risk profile of blood transfusion.

The is an outrageous thing to say, the NZ Blood Service recently had reason to say that all blood they distribute is safe for all recipients. She is damaging public safety and confidence in blood services for who knows what reason!

I couldn’t help getting back on the tools! Today I opened the Te Whaioranga health care education centre in Palmerston North. These 3rd year students are learning on incredibly lifelike mannequins. I can’t wait to see them on the wards and in our communities soon.
