Just because I think SQLite works great for Joy of Rails doesn’t mean it’s right for you. You may be wondering:
"Is SQLite a good fit for my next Rails app?"
I’ve set out to help you answer that question here:

Over on the blue place, @tenderlove brought up some really valid points about Fibers in Ruby. I wrote up some of my thoughts over there, and figured i'd share them here too. This is pretty long, sorry 😂

3️⃣ How to Render CSS Dynamically in Rails joyofrails.com/articles/how-… by Ross Kaffenberger @rossta
Ross shared an interesting technique for rendering CSS dynamically with Ruby on Rails. This is a good tutorial in which - among many other good examples - he renders a CSS file from a Rails action and makes a controller to set the color scheme for the web application. It has a lot of examples and shares the approach step by step.

Ok, a thought: we need a better catalogue of companies building with Rails. The one that includes not a few cool examples, but, say 50-80% of all notable businesses.
Why?
— Hiring. To boost chances of efficient and successful hiring on both sides, @RubyOnRemote is doing a great job but the problem is still here. I’m talking about indexng Ruby job posting across platforms and using that datato create a catalogue. It the company didn’t hire Ruby engineers in 3(?) years, it is archived.
— Connections. It’s crucial for local Ruby communities: Ruby meetups can be super useful for and be supported by the local Ruby companies. The should be a better way for local Ruby community leaders to find and contact local Ruby employers.
— Success stories. The more people learn about cool companies like @limebike and @Chime and @figma and @flexcar, and @whop and @ycombinator itself, and more and more, building with Ruby, the more people and companies are going to be vocal about building with Ruby too, and it is needed!
The skepticism of the broader tech community is real, and we should work to balance it with the real success stories and the power of the Ruby community.
@andycroll I was meaning to DM you this but then I thought why not tweet it. wdyt?

My contract with @GustoHQ has reached it's natural conclusion - there's not much work left to do :)
With that, I'll be available starting in August for:
* Audits/tune-ups
* Long-term retainer
* Training/workshops
I'm excited to get back to working with a diverse group of co's!
