📰 We’re in the Mail & Guardian!
We’re honoured to be featured in this week’s @mailandguardian (M&G), with a beautifully written article by @rollution01 that truly captures the heart of the Men’s Literacy Imbizo.
Thank you, Rolland, for telling this story with such care and for shining a light on the importance of fathers and male caregivers reading, storytelling, and learning alongside children. Your article reflects exactly what we strive for: creating a culture where every child grows up surrounded by stories, supported by caring adults, and inspired to read.
Pick up a copy of the M&G to read the full feature and learn more about the movement to get more men reading with children.

Netflix’s Viral series The Polygamist is based on the book of the same name by Zimbabwean author, Sue Nyathi, which was published in 2012. The book was rejected by major publishers, so Sue decided to self-publish it. Fourteen years later, it is now number one on Netflix in South Africa.

Good morning, here is the article on today’s Mail & Guardian newspaper, written by Rolland Motaung. Enjoy! 😅📚📖😍

📖📺: 50 Years of TV in South Africa🇿🇦
Thrilled to announce my debut book chapter.
The chapter looks at how TV has shaped public consciousness in post-apartheid South Africa, not just as entertainment, but as a powerful tool for dialogue, education, and social change. Using Yizo Yizo, Soul City, and Emzini Wezinsizwa, I explore how storytelling on screen helped raise awareness and influence public debate.
Grateful to be part of this important contribution to South African media scholarship.

My 2025 Reads 📚
Completed 13 books this year by spending just 30–40 minutes a day.
Books have helped me immensely over the last decade. They transformed me from a last-bench student into a more thoughtful, intellectually curious person, and shaped my personality across many aspects of life.
“I believe one lifetime is not enough to experience everything this world has to offer. Since we don’t have the time to live every experience ourselves, we learn from the experiences of others and those experiences live on in books.”
This principle always motivates me to keep reading.
Grateful to all the authors who chose to document their journeys, insights, and wisdom. Your words have given me invaluable lessons and have shaped many dimensions of my life.
Thank you 🙏

Netflix’s "Masaka Kids: A Rhythm Within", which follows the journey of the viral Masaka Kids Africana dance group from Uganda’s south-western Masaka region, is one of the most touching documentaries I have watched in a long while (and I watch a lot). If you need your faith restored in humankind, this will do it.
