Currently school meals in Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales, and England differ in terms eligibility etc. Wouldn't it be nice for all children across the UK to have equal access to school meals regardless of borders.
As the Chair of the School Food Review Working Group I am pleased to be presenting to the media today the case for universal free school meals. Link below, retweet as much as possible 2.6 million children struggled last month to access healthy food. bbc.co.uk/news/education-616…

Replying to @nadhimzahawi
@nadhimzahawi just seen you were in Melton today with @aliciakearns I would have loved to get your perspective on my 6yo SEN son, who was excluded from school on Friday, 15months on from being placed on the paediatric waitlist. Where is the support? Does anyone actually care?

.@BBCNews Most school meals look so much nicer than the ones in your photo! They’re prepared by talented cooks and caterers. And they’ll generally served in a real plate too. Caterers first, vouchers if needed. Pls update your photo library! bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52098076

Glad to see the Govt is taking this seriously. But very important that Govt continues to talk to cooks, caterers and heads to consider best way to feed hungry children. Different approaches will work in different places.
