A history lesson for those who thought Covid was gone; are incredulous and outraged over the parallels to HIV; and/or haven’t paid much attention to date: 🧵

Painfully obvious to anyone who is paying attention. But no, the morons making decisions insist on cracking down on the very absences they’ve caused with their own neglect.
1. Sometimes I find it difficult to remain professional and measured on this platform. This is one of those occasions, as I watch politicians seemingly unable to grasp the fact that with Covid in a state of constant and unmitigated transmission, children will be sick more often..

It’s weird that when people realized that there was incredible social pressure to unmask, very few people stopped to consider where that social pressure was actually coming from. Most just folded and joined in. There was no resistance. It’s hard to fathom how fucked that is.

👇 même chose pour le vaccin COVID-19. Une grosse erreur.

This is a mistake. Prevention is key, for protecting people but also to avoid the usual crisis in the health system during respirtaory virus season. As a reminder : flu is responsible for 9000 deaths per year in the US in people < 65yrs

And for free, QUEBEC.
At this point, public health is negligent not making it available to everyone at the earliest possible point. No govt or public health unit can tell me with certainty how many times I - or my children - have had Covld. They must assume we, too, are at risk of poor outcomes.

Seriously, I’ve never understood this approach. An ounce of prevention? Ha. The plebs have to pay for that. Like their approach to the pandemic. They gauge it by hospital capacity. Like, hey mfers, it’s called public health, not public “just sick enough. Whoops, too much. lol”

I don’t even know if that that tweet made sense. Haha. Point is, Public Health continues to do the bare minimum.

🔥🔥
They pushed their kids back to unsafe classrooms without even demanding upgrades to indoor air quality. Of course they think wearing a respirator at the market is too much to ask.

Great thread here. Loving all the receipts.
Working thread of published research on COVID 19. Every claim links to a real study. Published, peer-reviewed research from journals like Nature, The Lancet, BMJ, and Nature Medicine. Not speculation, this is what the mainstream science says. Please take it seriously.

Thanks for everyone's feedback, we have updated the Google doc to better highlight some of the relative and absolute differences. @paulseaman31 the other author of this document will also be posting the information on his account as well.
What is the #Nuvaxovid COVID vaccine and how is it different? @jeffgilchrist and I have put together a comprehensive document summarizing the available information regarding the main differences between Nuvaxovid and the more common mRNA based #COVID vaccines. 🧪🧵1/

Good news (relatively) for those in Quebec looking for Novavax.
Replying to @ADanGrenier
Québec pharmacists can order Nuvaxovid (Novavax). 🥳 Minimum 10 doses to order (create groups!). Will cost about 150$ (even if you’re eligible to the free vaccine 😒). 12 y.o.+

You elected a moronic, rapist, pedo, malignant narcissist who’s at death’s door. This war. Martial law. The blatant corruption. All of …this. *gestures at everything* What did you think was going to happen?
Tucker Carlson recounts a private meeting where Donald Trump dismissed serious concerns over a potential war with Iran by casually telling him, "In the end, we're all dead anyway." "I said to him, shocked, 'But what about our kids, our grandkids, our country?'

Replying to @PHAC_GC
@PHAC_GC @GovCanHealth Why is PHAC no longer providing weekly online updates of respiratory virus data? By the time updated data are made available, virus activity may already be increasing. Delayed data have limited value for timely public health decision-making.

So there are a few posts circulating showing that mortality rates have dropped significantly lower than pre-pandemic years and I just don’t get how that makes any sense. Explain it like I’m 5.

I’ve heard that Covid has now been baked in to the excess death numbers, so that could explain some of it. Also, maybe we killed off so many vulnerable people earlier in the pandemic, we got nowhere to go but up. 🤷‍♂️ I don’t have a science brain, so what do I know?

This right here. 👇
The thing is Canada's public health authority actually does say over & over that COVID increases the risks of developing other health conditions. I can probably cite half a dozen reports laying this out on in plain language. The problem is we do nothing.

“No one’s wearing masks” Why is no one wearing a mask, Joe? Tell me. I knew then and there we were cooked.
Four years ago today, President Biden said, "The pandemic is over. We still have a problem with COVID." At the time, we were in the 5th COVlD wave. We're now in the 13th.

This is really good. Well done @Mark_Ungrin
Outdated’ health policies surrounding Covid still pose a danger today, says U of C researcher Dr Mark Ungrin. We also hear from Dr David Keegan and Kerri Bowser and you’ll notice they all have masks on. Great modelling along with the messaging. #MaskUp

It’s not lost on me that PHAC reports that it’s updating its policies while… nothing changes.
