Is this a one-time fluke, or can I repeat it again? (Period: February 2021 until October 2026)
I started a new separate portfolio to challenge myself and prove that I can repeat it. Let’s check-in after a year.
While I did outperform the market in the past 4 years, I spent most of my time this year analyzing how I can do that again without going through that extreme volatility. Going to test my new findings with a new portfolio starting from zero.
I should write a follow-up to my primer on the stock market. It’s fun to be told that I did better than 90% of professional money managers.
I spent a whole month trying to decipher the stock market. 130+ hours later, I feel like I get it. My friends call me every day for tips, so I had to write a primer for newbies like me.

I’m overjoyed that more people are finally waking up to Metroid supremacy. They don’t call the genre metroidvania for naught. The 2D Metroid games are in a league of their own, and Dread is one of the best games Nintendo made.
Agreed. Prime 4 is a soulless game - by that I mean it doesn’t have a guiding ethos or soul as all the other Metroid/Prime games. The open area is empty and pointless, with the levels/dungeons being extremely linear and devoid of puzzles. It’s a Metroid game by name only.
Metroid Prime 4 Beyond fundamentally fails as a Metroid game. It is incredibly linear with its temples when they should be more complex interconnected with Sol Valley, Nintendo’s worst attempt yet at open-world (and doesn’t even fit the franchise). The characters are also really bad.
There’s a lot more I can say, I really hate this game. That doesn’t mean the Prime games should be thrown away to never be touched again. The original trilogy, especially the first two, are really good and there’s a lot of potential for a Prime 5 (especially a good one). Unfortunately bad games happen sometimes.
That being said, I’m still really excited for Metroid Ravenous, it looks very good.

Calm Down is by far my favorite song off Sanctuary – so many layers to it. Just an all-timer, from the unusually hush chorus (giving Lose Control vibes), to the wailing guitars in the bridge followed by Amy’s signature defiance, to the iconic Shhhhhhhh 🤫 youtu.be/6mk_EUnOhKg
I love Sanctuary as a whole, but I wish we had more dramatic orchestrations on top of this heavy rock & glitchy production. Idk if it’s a mixing decision to bury them, or a creative decision to not have much strings, but I miss that in Ev’s sound so much. TBT lacked it as well.
Jealous of everyone who got to see Janet in Japan!! 🥲 My revenge will be attending three back-to-back Evanescence concerts in Japan this December. The new album is fantastic and I’m excited to see them perform it live 🥵
