We won! Thanks to everyone.
Judgment has been handed down this morning in the matter of R (Respondent) v Hayes (Appellant); R (Respondent) v Palombo (Appellant) UKSC 2024/0087; UKSC 2024/0088: supremecourt.uk/cases/uksc-2….
For anyone interested in the safety of the Lucy Letby conviction read this thread as it may have a significant impact on any appeal she may have.
1/ The SC is hearing the Ben Field case today and as envisaged Lord Leggatt is all over the CPS who have now conceded the weak swimmer point doesn't apply here. The CPS also rely on the #LucyLetby case and a point Lord Leggatt made (not about Lucy's case) may spell trouble for
If you’ve missed Lord Leggatt who wrote my judgement here he is doing his thing again in a really interesting case.

For the last 14 years I listened to people calling me guilty. For the last year I listened to people saying I was not exonerated and we won on a technicality. Well Friday changed that. The case in law we were subjected to was so egregious it could not even withstand a guilty plea
Here is another person who has no idea of the import of the decision to set aside a plea of guilty. I sat in that appeal and the bench agreed the case in law (my case too) lacked the necessary elements to constitute an offence and therefore the plea was redundant.
Replying to @robilypj @Sunnanbyrg
It’s got nothing to do with your legal status given I’ve stated you got off on a technicality.
Legally you’re not guilty.
If the judge hadn’t made an error there was “ample evidence” that could have led to a guilty verdict.
A technicality so extreme it allowed a guilty plea to be set aside on Friday. For those who know the case(s) the reason for that was the case we faced was not criminal and therefore the plea was not considered sufficient. Much like the dismissal of my indictment in the USA.

Andy Burnham should appoint inquiry (tricky as he was briefly Treasury minister). Much of worst Libor rigging - far worse than those convicted - was by Bank of England (with Treasury & No 10 urging) during 2008 financial crisis. We need to hear from PM at time,
Gordon Brown.
I have no idea who you are but Maltin PR worked pro bono to overturn 8 wrongful convictions and David Davis was integral in achieving that. You obviously have some sort of agenda.

Andy Verity deserves sainthood for exposing & especially explaining the Libor scandal, one of greatest British scandals of my lifetime. It implicates several huge names from City, Treasury, Bank of England & politics, who should go to their graves with throbbing consciences.
Replying to @andyverity
I hope you are now happy with the decision of the British legal system.

No thank you. I am satisfied with the British Legal system and the decision of the jury.

I was convicted for talking to brokers (all subsequently acquitted) about Libor. Well here are the BOE asking Prebon to move their screens to attempt to move the published Euribor rate. Hmmm….
Anyone who watches this will see how the state broke the person who refused to lie for the treasury, Bank of England and senior managers. He’s the only person globally convicted of rigging either rates or FX. The SFO say his conviction is “safe”. Not on my watch.
They really ought to. Their uninformed journalism and harassment of us at our family homes was a disgrace. I’ve got written proof that Paul Tucker was aware of the commercial submissions and the Bank of England moved brokers screens to alter the rates. Zero interest from them.
Now that the Libor convictions have been quashed will the FT be handing back its 2012 press award? CC @robilypj
