I will be speaking with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his team this week to discuss Starshield, sanctions, and other matters pertaining to the defense of our strong ally, Ukraine. I will be assuring President Zelenskyy that anyone who attempts to limit the use of Starshield for Ukraine will be fully investigated and will be held fully accountable, to include public congressional oversight hearings, and immediate harsh and punitive budget cuts to any responsible agency or agency head.
Congress will unequivocally reaffirm that Ukraine is an indispensable ally to the United States, that Russia is a self-declared enemy of the United States, and that the United States will 100% support and defend the people of Ukraine in their fight for their own freedom against this brutal, illegal, and unprovoked Russian invasion.
The United States must provide any and all defensive equipment that Ukraine needs to defend itself. The United States must not import a single drop of Russian oil. Sanctions against the Russian regime must be harsher and stronger than they’ve ever been before. Each and every one of these items will be brought to the House Floor—and each and every one of these items will pass on the House Floor by an overwhelming margin.

Seva’s school day is over.
Because of the constant air raid alerts, the children managed to spend a grand total of 11 minutes learning in the classroom today.
The school has messaged parents to let us know that we can pick our children up and take them home, so they don’t have to spend the entire day sitting in a shelter.

Russian forces launched 16 ballistic missiles and more than 200 drones of various types at Ukraine, including jet-powered Shahed drones.
The main targets were Kyiv and the surrounding region. Energy facilities, a medical clinic, a school, a metro station, and residential buildings were also hit.
More than ten energy infrastructure facilities were damaged across Ukraine overnight, leaving at least 550,000 households without electricity.
Zelensky said Moscow has shown no willingness to take even the slightest steps toward de-escalation, let alone ending the war.
“When deliveries of missiles for Ukraine’s air defense are blocked, while Russia receives sanctions relief or delays, this unfortunately means that our partners are denying reality,” the Ukrainian president stressed.

Van snoep uitdelen naar rennen voor een drone
Wat begon als een mooi bezoek aan een gezin dat we al langere tijd helpen, eindigde in een levensgevaarlijke situatie.
We bezochten opnieuw het gezin met acht kinderen. Hun huis is inmiddels enorm opgeknapt en dankzij de hulp van donateurs gaat het gelukkig een stuk beter met hen. Alleen de douche en het toilet moeten nog worden afgemaakt. Dankzij een donateur die het gezin maandelijks ondersteunt, hebben ze inmiddels zelfs een vriezer kunnen kopen.
We waren gezellig in gesprek
Maar toen veranderde alles.
We staan buiten met ongeveer vijftien mensen, waaronder bewoners, en onze twee opvallende voertuigen. Plotseling vliegt er op slechts dertig meter afstand een FPV-drone voorbij. En tot onze schrik draait hij om en komt recht naar ons terug!
Op dat moment weet niemand wat er gaat gebeuren. Is het een Oekraïense drone of een Russische? Is de drone op zoek naar een doelwit? Heeft de bestuurder ons gezien? Zijn wij het doelwit?
Er is geen tijd om daarover na te denken. Iedereen rent uiteen en zoekt dekking. Zodra het mogelijk is, vertrekken we zo snel mogelijk. Niet alleen voor onze eigen veiligheid, maar vooral omdat onze aanwezigheid met de opvallende auto’s ook het gezin en de andere bewoners in gevaar kan brengen.
Pas tien kilometer verderop komt de rust enigszins terug. Later horen we dat er rond hetzelfde tijdstip meerdere inslagen in de omgeving zijn geweest.
En het meest verontrustende? We bevonden ons ruim 25 kilometer van de nullijn! Op die afstand hadden we deze dreiging niet verwacht.
Deze beelden laten zien hoe snel een ogenschijnlijk veilig moment in Oekraïne kan veranderen in een situatie waarin het letterlijk om leven en dood kan gaan.

Ukraine has carried out what it describes as the world’s first drone evacuation of a wounded soldier from the front line.
The infantryman from the 30th Mechanized Brigade was wounded at his position. Intense russian drone activity and difficult terrain made a conventional evacuation impossible.
So a drone carried him to safety.
The operation brought together the 92nd Assault Brigade, the 30th and 14th Mechanized Brigades, the 10th Army Corps and drone manufacturer Gurzuf Defence.

Rubio tvrdí, že Starshield „nemá s Ukrajinou nic společného“. Zakázky jeho vlastní vlády ale ukazují, že americké letectvo ho kupuje za peníze cizí vlády a spojení ukrajinské armády platí Německo a Polsko. Když Washington službu omezil, sáhl na zaplacenou smlouvu, ve které je sám prodávajícím.
To může mít dalekosáhlé následky pro další smlouvy, které Washington bude se svými spojenci uzavírat, nehledě na tom, kdo bude sedět v Bílém domě.
