Every designer needs 3 libraries: 1. UI Reference Library: apps, patterns, screenshots 2. Decision Library: what worked, what didn’t, & why 3. System Library: components you can drag into any new project Your brain becomes 10x faster when you stop redesigning solved problems.

Important to understand. Almost every single design conference is created for you at the expense of the hosts. Please be kind to them. Event hosts: start charging more money and stop relying on sponsors. Price tickets better. Only host events if you have money you can lose.
design folk, you won't get paid much to speak at your average design conf. It's just economics. Conferences mostly lose money. the big, corporate ones pay better. they still lose money tho. universities pay well. they have a budget for it. you're welcome.

The decline of the headphone jack has released an epidemic of braindead mouthbreathers playing videos in public spaces. Airpods are expensive but even if you manage to get them they're easy to lose (easier if you're dumb). So tech companies increase profits as people buy more of these miniature devices and the rest of us must endure shitty music and tik tok noise pollution.

This type of creativity is rare in tourism ads these days, most of which blend into each other. This is different, a typical understated Norse sense of dry humor. From @VisitOSLO. Well done, more needed in this series.

Messing around with Canva this morning and oh dang, you can actually publish the websites you design. Imagine, designing simple websites in Canva for local businesses and since this tool is for non-pros, it's potentially easier for clients to hop in/edit. Squarespace meets Figma type thing. Webflow is way more powerful and professional and will stay king but like Squarespace, Canva seems template, low-budget focused. You won't be able to charge $5K+ like with Webflow, but maybe few hundred to $2K which is huge. I use to make websites for $200-$500 in Photoshop + Flash. People forget you have to start somewhere. Not only can they do the website in Canva, but you can also set them up with animated social media posts and all kinds of things right there. Someone start a small Canva design agency ASAP. You'll crush some of these so called "pros." My kids use Canva. Their teachers use Canva. Lots of "non-pros" are using this and it could be an interesting avenue to explore for those struggling to get more professional high end clients right now or for those just looking to try something new. Not paid by Canva. I don't know anyone there. I'm just not closed minded and Canva is the most popular design tool (yes, you can design in it) right now for the masses, wether you like it or not. Your favorite companies are already using it for social media btw.
