Misty’s (Miss Tapizar) dam just passed away. Her owner, Justin Christoph, kept in touch with us and has been a great supporter. We asked him to write a few words about her. She was his horse of a lifetime.
Misty gets her dark bay coloring from her. It’s so nice to have these connections.
“I always wanted a horse growing up. Little did I know that I would wait forty years for the one and she was Sunny Morning, a thirteen year old thoroughbred broodmare, that I got for “free” in 2018. Sunny taught me everything I know about horses and gave us a beautiful filly, the last of her ten foals, Secret Journey “Cocoa.” Sunny, a true grande dame, was a strong horse and had strong opinions. She inspired my wife Danielle and I to buy a rundown farm in upstate NY in 2020, where she enjoyed her final years until arthritis and laminitis were too much for her in August 2026. Sunny helped me write her memoir, Saving Sunny Morning, which I hope to publish one day.” ~Justin
