marketers, what’s your preferred % split between organic and inorganic growth tools? - organic (community, content, networking, etc.) - inorganic (KOLs, ads, airdrops, questing platforms, etc.) is it 80/20? is it 20/80? does it differ in each launch phase? curious to know

"if everyone's a creator there's no one left to be a consumer" this is what happened to ct - it turned into a bunch of creators boosting each other quality? gone the only thing that's trying to save this is a huge surge in articles - no AI, high quality and completely unhinged. after a few weeks, scrolling my fyp is finally becoming enjoyable again. really hope it stays this way.

hot take: the fyp will disappear in <6 months AI is about to flip organic content - what’s now minority will become the majority. your feed will be 99.9% AI. you’ll only interact with people you follow or your lists. (if the algo keeps rewarding AI content) btw LinkedIn with its AI laser eye maxis is already almost unusable. curious to see how this plays out.

applying through job portals will get you nowhere. I spent a full month doing this before realizing why it wasn’t working: > crypto roles get flooded (1 listing = hundreds or thousands of applicants) > during my time at binance they got 1.5M applications anually (3y ago). only 2-3% made it to an interview. today the competition is several times bigger. > most applicants never make it past the AI filter. the industry is maturing and talent is booming. without an edge, your chances are close to 0. the solution is: 1. find your edge 2. learn how to sell yourself (otherwise you’ll get crushed by competition)
Seen this earlier - staggering levels of interest I was also informed (from a very reliable source) over the summer that Coinbase were on track to receive 1.5 million applications this year alone. So with demand so fierce, is applying via a job board or career page alone, a complete waste of time? Yes, it often is - unless you're a strikingly obvious match If you're not a strikingly obvious match, the only benefit is that you're in their database for future vacancies Whether it's a major exchange or defi start-up, your application should be a TWO-PRONGED APPROACH Yes, you should apply on the job board or career page, but you should also be asking yourself "who do I know that might be able to help me" or "who can help me standout from the pile"?! How can I lean in on referrals?! Then, show a little initiative and impress send them a concise, yet tailored message on LinkedIn with your resume and portfolio. Maybe even request a virtual coffee - many will oblige. Prove that you are that hidden gem Ultimately, the goal should be to get somebody internally advocating for you As I said before, the power of an employee referral in web3 cannot be overstated Don't just job search - people search too Many don't seek help. Instead, they throw their resume everywhere, hoping that it'll resonate somewhere Many know applying cold is flawed, but carry on regardless Yes, a two-pronged approach requires more effort, but you reap what you sow Put yourself in the shoes of the busy TA sifting through each application. For a start, many applications have been dismissed by the system already and then, they've to pick those who are strikingly obvious for the hiring manager Then, even if you're a strikingly obvious fit, you have to have a resume that indeed says you're 'strikingly obviously' This is where many candidates slip up. Many don't optimize their resumes for success i.e. their resume is too wordy, double columns, wrong font, template etc.

I miss the times when creators would create content because they're genuinely passionate about it, and not because it's incentivized. "Well, don't you create content to make an income?" Yes i do, but it's completely different when you're creating because you're genuinely interested in things you like versus a project putting together a $100k prize pool for creators to compete on a leaderboard. Maybe i'm overthinking it, but i don't think people realize how much infofi has really shaped the creator landscape and the future of it.

we’re cooked
a random guy created a fake AI artist making $40k/month and @Spotify even verified her. Ennly Blue - this name popped up yesterday when I was browsing the “discover more” section and I was speechless. >>>2 million monthly listeners<<< and the description says: "Ennly Blue is an independent artist from the US." is she? NO. it’s just hundreds of blues songs mashed together by an algorithm. the only real name linked to it: thong viet. spotify pays $0.003–$0.005 per stream → that’s $30k–$50k/month. add youtube, and you’re easily above $40k/month so basically, someone trained an AI on decades of human talent artistry and effort and now earns tens of thousands monthly from its output. and spotify is fine with that? so this is the “progress” everyone’s celebrating?

Bingo. Also, nobody remembers your bangers or non bangers. You are only as good as your last post.

founder marketing >>>> project mkt
Leon says; Most projects would actually do better if they had no project account and the whole marketing was done on the founder's account Here's why ft; @leonabboud, @_lfausto, @AntonioSco_MOV @SonicLabs

Is the premium+ sub worth it? did you actually see a change in reach? (Im considering it just bc of articles)

Brand accounts are just not a great way to get in front of new people. Zksync tweets every day, 1.4m followers, never seen them on the feed. Not even once and I'm directly in their market, I even follow some of the chains that use their tech. The only reason Polkadot (1.5m followers) ever got on my feed is content creators I like posted about them. I think people overvalue their own socials as a way to grow. Great for reaching people who already are interested in you, not good for reaching new people generally. Thoughts?

marketers, serious question. wdyt is next for AI and social media? A) existing platforms introducing a “no AI” option B) new “non-AI” platforms emerging (ik it’s tricky for text, I’m mostly thinking about visual content) and what would you personally prefer? bc I really do not want to see AI images on pinterest nor do I want to hear AI songs on spotify (yes, it happened)
