We have not seen anything like this since reindeer rutting season in the East Fjords.

What's the most village thing that happened in your match at the weekend? 🏏

Keep your eyes on this folks. This is IMPORTANT. It’s not just happening at Lancashire - most counties DON’T want to be beholden to their members & will try to put these measures across. We could be down to 10 cc games a season before you know it -do not remain silent if you care

Joe Root has now scored no less than sixty centuries in international cricket.
This is impressive, but he has none in Iceland.
We remain the final frontier for so many greats.
Can he do it on a lava bedded wicket in Reykjavík?

During India’s 1986 tour of England, Gooch took a brilliant catch to dismiss Maninder Singh off the bowling of Graham Dilley in the Leeds Test. Bruce French was the wicketkeeper in that match.
The remarkable catch later featured in promotional advertisements for the Nehru Cup football tournament held in India in 1989.

This evening, for no reason at all, we turn the spotlight on the Icelandic sheep. There are roughly 400,000 of them during the summer, more than our human population. They also have better designed houses than many of us.

Just a reminder that England no longer have a specialist fielding coach.
I’m sure that the dropped catches are completely unrelated to that though…
Nine innings, 17 drops.
England have dropped 35 catches across their last 10 Tests.

A Happy New Year to all our followers from @1968Tv
Please don’t forget: football wasn’t invented in 1992; there was no VAR, no names on the back of shirts, stupid kick-off times, TV saturation, poor commentators, and no tick-box, so-called pundits.
But remember what we did have, The Big Match (regional football), Match Of The Day (when it was good) 3pm kick offs, decent Cup Competitions, commentators who knew when to speak, Brian Moore, Barry Davies, David Coleman, Hugh Johns and the rest, Home Internationals, Grandstand & World Of Sport, Sportsnight, Midweek Sport Special, Cup Replays, Lancaster Gate, proper cup draws, characters like Bowles, Worthington, Currie, no sponsorships on shirts, etc, etc, etc.
Please take us back to when football was for the fans and we weren’t getting ripped off.

In the New Year, we will have a new admin and a new, more refined and professional approach. The focus will shift to Icelandic domestic cricket only. Player profiles, interviews, scorecards and statistics will be the focal points. As an aspiring Associate Member of the ICC, we need to be credible and the sarcastic approach of so many of our posts will not help our ambitions. This will not be easy for many of our fans to digest, but will align our social media activities with those of other nations. Only joking, the rollercoaster show continues in 2026!

Only 108 days until the County Championship returns!
Quiet mornings, creaking pavilions, the sound of leather on willow and cricket the way it’s meant to be. There’s nothing better than a day at a county ground.

ONLY 109 DAYS TO GO UNTIL THE RETURN OF THE COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP!
Real, live, red ball cricket - including such startling innovations as the “block” and the “leave”.
Be part of the excitement as players DON’T attempt to play the ramp shot with the keeper stood up!

Just done my last report for @5liveSport ending 51 yrs at the Beeb & 44 in the Sports Dept. My decision. Will remain on this platform, fulminating & eulogising in equal measure. Thanks for listening & ( usually) the supportive feedback.

We’ve had ups and downs and many, many challenges but here we still are. We’ve weathered the storms without running away when things were difficult. And still find each other quite amusing. I think that’s something to be proud of my love. 36 years today. @MrMBrandon

Thoughts with the lifelong Northern Superchargers fans at this difficult time. Think of the generations who every Christmas wanted that famous purple Popchips shirt. Sad to see so much history go

The EU is winding down freeports due to money laundering and tax evasion. Britain is expanding them.
That should tell you everything you need to know about where this is headed.
Please read and share my latest article on Substack 'The Magic Money Tree: How Brexit Unlocked Britain's Corporate Welfare Bonanza. It is absolutely explosive.

Just disgusting from 3p Lee - who wants to stigmatise, shame and risk the lives of people with disabilities. Truly gutter politics, @LeeAndersonMP_

Of course she has. The small matter of owing £122 million to UK taxpayers for her disgusting profiteering in a global pandemic means nothing to @MichelleMone. NHS staff died in my hospital from the Covid they caught there - her dodgy PPE racket was vile.
