A rather surprising discovery in an old church filing cabinet - the Prayer Book Epistles and Gospels in a Jerusalem Bible version.

I think it’s time for Anglicans to tell their Archbishops bluntly.
We cannot read the INIQE report and have any confidence that Safeguarding will improve whilst obstructive Senior Officers remain in place. First departure must be the Secretary General, William Nye.

It is deeply moving as the Christmas Crib Service approaches to remember visiting Bethlehem, and reverencing the place where the manger stood on that night long ago.

Why do some church leaders get very upset when they sense Christian faith is being 'hijacked' by the 'right'—when they have not breathed a word about the danger of being 'hijacked' by the 'left'?

Padre Wylie is spending this Christmas over 6,000 miles away from home.
In his message home he shares his festive thoughts with us as he prepares for Christmas in Kenya.🎄

On #ArmisticeDay, we remember all who gave their lives in pursuit of peace. We especially call to mind Army chaplains who sacrificed their lives for others.
Their courage will always be remembered.🙏

The idea that the rise of Christianity had nothing to do with its substance or ideas but was only a factor of a desire for power & money is so mad it's hard to credit. Clearly no one told Polycarp (or any of the other early martyrs, or John Chrysostom, or persecuted Middle Eastern Christians etc etc etc)

The welfare state has removed the link between effort and reward. Benefits are no longer a ‘safety net’ — they’re a tax on the conscientious to reward the idle. It’s not just unfair, it’s immoral.

🏴My wonderful MP for whom I campaigned in all winds & weathers, knowing that it mattered to get this excellent man back to Westminster. Do listen. This is about England, our history and way of life just as much as it’s about one man’s faith, decency, and advocacy for others.

The vote in the House of Commons in favour of the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill is a watershed moment in the history of our country. It fundamentally changes society’s long held values and relationships on matters of life and death.

Ahead of the third reading on Friday, I wish to call attention to the fact that the future of many care homes and hospices will be put in grave doubt if the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill becomes law. rcdow.org.uk/news/future-of-…
There could be a new Pope leading the worldwide Catholic Church by the end of this week. Election is a much quicker and more representative way of choosing a new church leader. The Church of England will be waiting for several months to come.

As Parliament considers legalising assisted suicide, we as Catholics oppose this change on principle. Every human life is sacred, bearing God-given dignity. This Bill elevates individual autonomy at the cost of that shared truth. rcdow.org.uk/cardinal/news/a…
