I am a Christian. Who experiences same sex attractions. And I believe in what the Bible teaches. Why I think it's worth saying that aloud is, because I know there are so many like me. Who believe they are cut off from a relationship with God just because of their experience.

Non-straight ppl are treated with a double standard. Sam Allberry is no different. When Steve Lawson or Phillip Yancey et al have affairs we don’t assume their theology was wrong or their marriage status caused their infidelity. Yet Sam had whatever an “inappropriate relationship” is and suddenly ppl pounce on his theology and singleness as the root of the problem. Double standard.

Most people weighing in on theology of concupiscence are simply evidencing how little theology they know about concupiscence.

I’m praying for Sam Allberry today as a large part of the evangelical world publicly dumps on him as if they are not wretched sinners in need of God’s grace.
A pastor’s response to sin should be like that of Jesus in the entirety of John 8.1-11.

Also I’m so thankful my conservative Dad still accepts me after coming out and don’t take it for granted 🫶🏻

We need more Christians who have a depth of grace to them that they allow the grieving to express a wide range of emotions on their pathway to healing.
