Things my mental illness sometimes stops me doing.. • picking up the phone • leaving the house • eating healthy • exercising • laughing • doing my hair or makeup • getting dressed Sometimes being able to do one of these things is a victory. Retweet if you understand

So true
Trauma responses can look like.. •Craving control. •Agreeing to things just to keep the peace. •Feeling responsible for others happiness. •Feeling on guard all the time. •Chronic feelings of emptiness. •Convinced something bad will happen. •Oversharing. #Trauma

Our first ECMO transfer.💚 This week we worked with our clinical partner team ECMO in Leicester to safely transfer a patient in just 1 hour 26 mins. Whereas the journey via road would have taken 3hrs 38 mins. 🚁 To read bit.ly/3HRSpQc @PICULeicester @LeicChildHosp

If on shift someone asks you (especially the nurse-in-charge) whether you have had something to eat or drink, it’s not just your stomach they are inquiring about. They may well be noticing your behaviour is changing & giving you a gentle nudge. rolobotrambles.com/perishift…

In the early hours of New Year’s Day 2018 I was raped while unconscious by someone I trusted. This was the beginning of a cycle of abuse that lasted years. His friends and family knew but said no one would believe me. They were wrong. He spent New Year’s Day 2023 behind bars.

Today my great grandmother, Lily Ebert, an Auschwitz survivor, turns 99! “I never thought I would survive Auschwitz and have another birthday. At 99, I celebrate to show that the Nazis did not win!” All #HappyBirthdayLily wishes and comments will be passed on to Lily. ❤️

29th December 2022.  Vivienne Westwood died today, peacefully and surrounded by her family, in Clapham, South London. The world needs people like Vivienne to make a change for the better.

Do any of my followers know any amazing boxers who would send a happy birthday email/video for a special person who is a big boxing fan & has been bravely battling critical illness for many wks now? Needs to be by this Sunday if possible. DM if you can help. Thankyou 😊

Passive suicidal ideation is so common in trauma survivors that many don't bother to even mention it when they're being assessed-- it's just always there. It becomes like the barely noticeable background music in a TV show.
