You: What’s the 1️⃣ EdTech story that all should know ?
Me: One Laptop Per Child (OLPC)
You: Why ?
Me: Many have heard of it, few know the details of it’s shocking failure & it is a great example of what I call:
“The iceberg theory of EdTech”
But its start was full of promise…
Has anyone else discovered how much they rely on serendipity to fill their social buckets over the past year?
I’ve been wanting to share more about this experience, but the clarity of reflecting comes and goes. This afternoon it lined up with energy and some optimism.

Shout out to @alisontodak, chelsea @beincahoots, and @andyfowler for helping me shake off my social cobwebs and for helping bring serendipity and connection to me. Thank you. It's a gift.
Let’s find some more of that, yeah? ✨
This week in Basecamp has sparked many conversations. The most meaningful ones for me have been 1:1, the best ones in-person.
My take?
The Jason/DHH decisions, however well-intentioned, will not age well.
Sunlight & uncomfortable conversations, ahoy!
🧵
That said, this particular topic has reminded me that I need to speak up more often, regardless of the medium.
It's healthier, and I feel better when I do it. 🥬
I've heard some really good suggestions about how to have hard conversations at work. I'll share them soon.
If you have any suggestions that you've seen work well, hit me up!
Til next time, keep talkin'. youtube.com/watch?v=55xQu9eI…
