Tonight at SLT, we thought about what has gone well with @Steplab_co this half term as part of a debrief (thanks to @Mr_Crome for highlighting the impact of this @researchEDSW) and then looked ahead, completing a premortem for 24-25 considering plausible reasons for failure ✅

Chapter 8 is from @DoweySarah who looks at the importance of metacognitive monitoring. Without support and action, monitoring can be a pointless activity (if students do it wrong or don't act effectively) Sarah explores what can go wrong, and exactly what students ought to do

Off the back of the amazing key note by @HughesHaili at @researchEDSW I am now obsessed by the phrase 'Tacit Knowledge' and how we are losing it by the truckload because of poor teacher retention. Possible impact on 'Adaptive Expertise' loss as well? @SCottinghatt

@nmgilbride's session at @researchEDSW on the complexity of leadership got me thinking this week about how much stuff sits between a stimulus and someone's response. As coaches and leaders, we need to protect space to explore this if we want to really support people.
