I agree. A naval blockade is an act of war.  Causing starvation of a civilian population is a war crime, and can be a crime against humanity. We should not mince words with what the Trump Administration is inflicting on the people of Cuba. It is cruel, vindictive, shameful and criminal. There must be accountability.
This is an act of war: Trump’s Coast Guard has intercepted a large cargo ship carrying fuel bound for Cuba, as Trump’s crippling oil embargo against the island nation continued. trib.al/gZgn6sS

A new treatment that slows Alzheimer's progression could generate more than $100,000 in lifetime social value per person. Even more if started earlier. My bipartisan Alzheimer's Early Detection Act would give every American that early start by covering biomarker testing, which is good medicine and smart money. Pre-symptomatic individuals shouldn't need to wait to show symptoms to start the treatment that can delay the decline. schaeffer.usc.edu/research/e…

#mapoli #mabiz On target column on distinction of bills with multiple subjects, & legislative productivity in MA vs other states with single subject restrictions. But another important reason why less bills passed is a very good thing: After more than 250 years of legislative activity, how many important, good laws really need to be passed or should be passed each & every session? It is just as important & productive to study, consider & NOT pass bad or unnecessary bills as it is to pass good bills. It's about developing good public policy, & passing good laws, rather than just passing more unnecessary, bad or costly laws for our families, employers & taxpayers. That's why bill counting & comparisons with other states makes very little sense. Critics of the Legislature’s productivity ignore a key legal distinction setting Mass. apart from nearly all other states commonwealthbeacon.org/opini… via @cwbeacon

🚨MAJOR BREAKING: Epstein survivors just announced they will release their own list of names. “We know who abused us. We saw who came and went. This list will be survivor-led—for survivors.” The government stalled. Now the victims are doing it themselves.

Growing old or falling on hard times shouldn’t cost you your healthcare. America made that promise 61 years ago. But at Trump’s direction, Republicans enacted the largest-ever cuts to Medicaid and Medicare — all to fund tax breaks for billionaires. House Democrats are fighting to undo the damage they’ve done and deliver you the Affordable America you deserve.

Trump’s reckless & illegal war with Iran is costing tens of billions of dollars, thousands of innocent lives, and has already killed 18 brave American service members. All the while, prices are soaring even higher. END THIS WAR NOW!

Massachusetts has had an incredible summer. The best part? It's not over yet, and neither are the savings on the @MBTA. On top of discounts happening through August, we're rolling out new ways to save this fall: an unlimited 2 hour transfer window, $1.70 express bus fares, and fare-free service for seniors 75+ without a license. We've spent the past three years getting the T back on track. Now, we're making it more affordable to get where you need to go.

On Buffalo Soldiers Day, we honor the legacy of the Black soldiers who served with courage, resilience, and distinction in the U.S. Army after the Civil War. Their story was made possible in part by the trailblazers of the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry. As one of the first official Black regiments to serve in the Civil War, the 54th paved the way for the creation of the Buffalo Soldier regiments. Here in Massachusetts, you can visit the Robert Gould Shaw and the 54th Regiment Memorial on Boston Common to reflect on the sacrifice and service of the soldiers whose legacy helped shape our nation's military history. It’s just one of the thousands of war memorials, monuments, and historic sites on the Massachusetts Veterans Legacy, helping connect us to the stories of those who served.
