The fantasy of the abuse of the system Figures highlight it is minimal and eclipsed many times over by those who fail to claim benefit they are entitled at and tax avoidance which is 8x more at least than any benefit fraud
'Let's not be naive about the abuse of the system at the moment' Danny Kruger from Reform UK told #BBCBreakfast 'many people will lose their entitlement' when he was questioned about proposals from the party to cut about £50bn from the benefits bill and replace the disability payments system of Personal Independent Payments bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cz97…

The UK was the fastest-growing economy in the G7 in the first half of the year. We know families and businesses are concerned about conflict in the Middle East - and this government is giving people a little breathing space, strengthening resilience and bringing hope back.

The UK is signatory to the UN convention on torture which precludes us from sending people to countries where they may receive inhumane treatment. Are we really going to pull out of that treaty to send a few foreign prisoners to be tortured and abused in El Salvador?

Let's set aside the fact it's not that long ago Zia Yusuf and his colleagues were demanding everyone moderate their rhetoric. Ben Wallace was an officer in the Scots Guards. He served in Northern Ireland, where he was Mentioned In Dispatches. Just the latest example of how Reform's senior leadership are completely losing control.
Incredible that this moron was Defence Secretary. Our policy today is in direct response to your government’s failures. If their home countries won’t take back, their citizens that are languishing in our jails, we are renting spaces in countries like El Salvador to put them. They will serve their full jail terms there, and will be banned from ever coming back to Britain. They may well include some of the thousands of Afghans you imported, including those who had not been vetted properly and including Taliban fighters (!). You know, the ones you took a super injunction out to keep secret from the British people? That’s why I call you a traitor to Britain. You fit the dictionary definition @BenWallace70

I wish he had been able to make the changes needed to stay as he had many good points. But he is an intelligent man and as he decided to go I can only conclude that he recognised his weaknesses as well as his strengths and believed it was best for the country if he resigned.

He can't help himself 'We don't know what their political motives are or if there are any' - the police clearly said that there was nothing to indicate political motivation or terrorism currently'. Then at the very end he says 'I do fear for anybody in public life or especially in the political space things have become even more dangerous today' So using a situation he said he would not speculate about to stoke 'political fear'
Ann Widdecombe gave her life to public service. My tribute after the upsetting news today.

All that's happening is that the automatic release point for serious offenders is being reverted back to what it was pre-2020, before your party pointlessly changed it simply to sound "tough" and deflect from your failure to properly fund anything.

Just saying …..If you were wondering how people without £5m donations could support Count Binface as he stands in Clacton you can find his page for contributions here. He donated excess contributions to charity after running in London Mayoral election ko-fi.com/countbinface

Count Binface belongs to a proud British tradition – much longer and prouder than any British tradition Nigel Farage can claim to represent – of candidates who exist solely to allow the electorate to express how inadequate they find the other options. Rather than not voting, or voting for someone they don’t actually believe should hold power, the people can send a message that they consider the other candidates so insufficient as representatives that they would rather vote for a man with a bin on his head. We must unite behind Count Binface, writes @willydunn: newstatesman.com/politics/uk…

The more we know about Trump’s ‘peace’ deal with Iran, the worse it gets. We now learn the US will allow Iran immediately to begin exporting oil and other fuel, allowing Tehran to start replenishing its coffers pronto. Waivers of sanctions on oil sales will take effect the moment the US-Iranian ‘Memo of Understanding’ is signed later this week. Waivers will also cover all necessary services such as banking, transportation and insurance associated with oil exports. An Iranian supertanker carrying crude has already left the port of Chabahar, crossed the US blockade and today sailed out of the Gulf of Oman with its location tracker active — a first since the beginning of the US blockade in April.  Christmas has really come early for the tyrants of Tehran, courtesy of Santa Trump.

Keir Starmer and I disagree on many things, but good people across the political spectrum will welcome today’s verdicts, condemn these appalling attacks which seem to have been sponsored by Russia, and wish the PM and his family well. Whatever our political differences, no one should face intimidation, threats or attacks because they hold public office. Democracy is settled at the ballot box, not through fear or violence and definitely not through foreign interference from hostile countries.
