Some of the non-book things I love are my late handsome aged dog, my harmonicas, my young handsome dog, my guitars, my awesome musician son, my handsome husband, my piano and my art. • #booktwt #book #reading #dogsoftwitter #guitar #harmonica #harp #gorilla #piano #cyclist

Shouldn’t university be only for the brightest students? Social or financial status shouldn’t be a consideration. I see large numbers of students with poor A-level results still going to university, struggling, failing or dropping out. I see that as a bigger problem.

Holy crap!
Time is money. If it takes twice as long to do something you earn half as much. This is the brutal fact at the heart of Brexit. Let’s "Brexit" a £12.99 paperback, blow by blow, and see what difference leaving the single market has made.

Weekend reading. On Chesil Beach - Ian McEwan. 53 pages and one glass of wine so far…and I’m enjoying both. I’m winding down Twitter as that man shows himself to be more bigoted by the day & I’m not comfortable with that. #onchesilbeach #ianmcewan @vintagebooks #charityshop

I’ve given Kala - Colin Walsh 4 stars even though this is not a genre I ever enjoy. Why did I accept it for review? Because the writing is superb. “The nicotine glamour of an unmade bed” “No point in lying to people when you can say nothing” @AtlanticBooks #colinwalsh #kala

Search for thread on IG. Tap on the little red ticket. It’s soooo neat 🙂

Re Twitter alternative. I don’t like mastodon, hive hasn’t taken off, blsky taking too long So I shall be trying Threads when it launches on Thursday. IG’s text based platform which allows access (if you permit) to IG follows/followers so should be easy to get going.

If your pet doesn't have a broad range of alternative names that are increasingly distanced from their registered one, I don't even know what you're playing at.
Replying to @AdamJFarrer
My dog is officially called Pandora, but she usually goes by Reen. Pandora went to Dora then to Doreen, then to Reen. I always say if I ever have another dog it will be Maureen - nickname Little Mo.

Well, this is very nice. The best alcohol free gin I’ve tried so far. Has to be a triple, though, to taste it through the tonic 🙂 @FeverTreeMixers #alcoholfree #gin #ginandtonic #cleanco

Woke at 2:30am (needed a wee!) and couldn’t get back to sleep so started reading Kala - Colin Walsh. I’m a bit gripped already. I have an ePub for review, thankfully not a PDF, but sometimes I long for print. @AtlanticBooks #colinwalsh #kala

This is spot on.
Seven years ago, after the results of the Brexit referendum came through, this young woman was asked to put her thoughts about it on camera. Her eloquent words spoke for so many of us – and her worst fears have tragically come true. #BrexitDay

Watched Vera for the first time last night. Far too many twists for a single episode. Made it seem rushed. Also, Brenda Blethyn, whom I love, too often sounding like a Sarah Millican impression.

I thought publishers would be aware that amazon will only let you submit reviews if you have spent £40 in the last year. I’m still frequently asked to review there. There’s no restriction on other book selling sites.
