Every generation is remembered for the challenges it overcame. Ours can be the generation that ended polio forever. As we mark World Polio Day on 24th October, @rotaryd9213 calls on communities, partners and leaders to keep investing in immunisation, surveillance and advocacy until no child, anywhere, is threatened by polio again. Together, we are closer than ever. Together, we can finish the fight to @EndPolioNow. Donate: rotary.org/donate #RotaryEyamba | #RotaryKonyo | #RotaractLegacy @dgrotaryd9213

Welcome October! This month, @Rotary puts Community Economic Empowerment at the heart of our service, reminding us that Creating Lasting Change begins when people have the opportunity to build, earn and lead. Across communities, Rotary clubs and partners are helping people build skills, livelihoods, enterprises and economic resilience by creating opportunities for individuals, strengthen community capacity to turn ideas into action and shape their own futures. When people are empowered, families become stronger, communities become more resilient and possibilities become realities. #RotaryEyamba | #RotaryKonyo| #RotarctLegacy

Some acts of service don’t make noise. They simply help someone get home this is what was in my mind while in Bunga a suburb of kampala A painted zebra crossing may look like just paint on a road, but to someone trying to get safely to the other side, it can mean everything. Then there were 100 reflective jackets helping boda riders and young people be seen. Sometimes, service is simply helping someone make it home safely. Thank you @rcmahaba and your partners for making Bunga a safer zone #RotaryEyamba #RotaryKonyo

Parliament Fulfils Its Pledge of UGX 3bn Towards Cancer Run 2026. @Parliament_Ug has fulfilled its pledge to the 15th @UgRotaryCancerP Run of UGX 3 billion. The funds are going towards the construction and equipping of the Cancer Treatment Centre @NsambyaHospital. The contribution was announced this morning by the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Jacob Markson Oboth (@ObothOboth) during a meeting to activate the 15th edition of the Cancer Run at Parliament. The UGX 3 billion contribution is a significant boost to this year’s fundraising campaign with a target of UGX 5 billion. Parliament has been a longstanding partner of the @UgRotaryCancerP. With this latest contribution, its cumulative support to the cancer initiative now stands at UGX 10.2 billion since the campaign began, demonstrating sustained institutional commitment to the national fight against cancer. The 15th edition of #CancerRunUg26 will take place on Sunday, 30 August 2026, at the Kololo Ceremonial Grounds, with runs taking place across 62 cities and towns nationwide, as well as in countries where Uganda maintains an embassy or consulate. #GgwangaMujje! #RotaryEyamba | #RotaryKonyo | #RotaractLegacy

The Africa Rotary Peace Fund Secures $227,400 Commitment. The Africa Rotary Peace Fund has received a USD 227,400 commitment from individual Major Donors during the 2nd Major Donors Members’ Society Dinner, held at BSF Gardens in Muyenga. The dinner was hosted by Regional Rotary Foundation Chair PDG @BobNsibirwa as Africa Zone 22 prepares to host the 6th @apconcert on November 27, 2026, at Munyonyo. The concert will form part of the Africa Zone Institute Conference slated from 26th to 29th November. The event was officiated by Past Rotary Foundation Trustee @GeetaManek , who encouraged Rotarians to embrace a culture of giving, sharing her personal conviction that contributions to the Foundation have the power to transform and uplift communities. Trustee Manek also assured donors that the Foundation has strong stewardship systems to ensure that funds reach the intended beneficiaries. She emphasized that these systems are anchored in ethics, integrity, accountability and sustainability. In his keynote address, Trustee Tusu Tusubira thanked Rotarians for their continued generosity but challenged them to give even more, noting that significant challenges remain in communities across Africa and beyond. He pointed to the @abebech_gobena Foundation by Abebech Gobena who in 1980s rescued a baby girl still suckling at the breast of her dead mother at a feeding centre during the famine in Ethiopia as an example of how giving can create meaningful change. “We need to understand what giving is and why we give. We need to connect the eyes to the heart to see the misery before us, and giving will become easy. To those who have been given more, more is expected,” Tusu said. The USD 227,400 commitment will support Rotary’s global peacebuilding work, including the Rotary Peace Centres. Among the centres is @MakerereRotary, where Rotary provides advanced training for peacebuilders working in Africa. #RotaryEyamba | #RotaryKonyo | #RotaractLegacy

Across Uganda, young people are using their creativity, courage and energy to solve problems, build businesses, serve communities and shape a better future. At @rotaryd9213, we believe that when young people are equipped with the right skills, supported by mentors and given opportunities to lead, they don't just participate in change, they create it. On this International Youth Day, we celebrate the young innovators, entrepreneurs, volunteers, leaders and dreamers who are turning ideas into action. Our commitment is clear: to create spaces where young people can learn, lead, serve and thrive. Because investing in young people is not an investment in the future alone. It is an investment in the change we want to see today. Happy International Youth Day! Different Contexts. Common Aspirations. #RotaryEyamba | #RotaryKonyo #RotaractLegacy
