Today in Wainwright with @dckurek, I met with Mayor Bruce Pugh, Fire Chief Aime Smyl, Deputy Fire Chief Wade Pillman, MLA Garth Rowswell and Reeve Mike Wildeboer of the MD of Wainwright to hear directly from the people leading this community through the tragedy at CFB Wainwright.
Our hearts are with the families of the service members we lost, and with everyone injured and still fighting for their lives. These are men and women who put on the uniform to protect our country. Their families deserve our prayers and our support.
To the firefighters, paramedics, nurses, doctors and soldiers who ran toward the fire and worked through the night: thank you. Wainwright and its base have always been critically interlinked. In the worst of moments, this community showed exactly who it is.
Conservatives will stand with Wainwright, our troops, and their families for as long as it takes.

The Royal Canadian Legion sends deep condolences and offers help and support to families after multiple fatalities and injuries at CFB Wainwright, an army training base in Alberta. These brave members have given their lives in service to Canada. Our flags will fly at half-mast in Remembrance.

For those in Alberta who are able to give blood, please note below
Spoke with Canadian Blood Services. I’m told there is no emergency blood drive currently in Wainwright but they are taking appointments starting Tuesday in Edmonton. There has been an outpouring of support to offer blood and O positive and O negative blood is the most versatile and in high demand. If you can give please call +1 (888) 236-6283
Thank you everyone for your prayers and for being there for our men and women in uniform at this difficult time.

We are dealing with a serious incident at CFB Wainwright, and are fully engaged with federal, provincial and local authorities. Our priority remains the welfare of our members, their families and their community, and my thoughts are with all those affected by this incident.
Praying for Wainwright
Pray for Wainwright, everyone.
There has been a serious incident that caused a fire at CFB Wainwright. Thank you to the brave firefighters and emergency responders working to save lives.
I have spoken to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defence to offer our support to everyone on the base and in the community.
To everyone in the area, please stay safe, follow local emergency instructions, and keep roads clear for first responders.
Fair is fair. I have pointed out when Coyne has been wrong. But he’s bang on about this. It doesn’t matter whether you support Canada as a constitutional monarchy - it’s entrenched in Canada’s constitution. Governments can’t choose by themselves to opt out of parts of the Constitution they don’t like. (Beyond what’s allowed for under section 33 of the Charter)
On the positive side, they sure take the monarchy seriously — more seriously than any other party or province. To go to the trouble of refusing to swear the oath!
There’s just that little problem of the Constitution requiring it.

Only as I’ve pointed out elsewhere, violating the Constitution is the point.

The Royal Canadian Legion’s National Poppy Campaign is set to launch soon, on October 24 - a new permanent date going forward. New and returning initiatives will highlight this year’s period of Remembrance, right up until November 11.
“Each year, Canadians step up with amazing support for the National Poppy Campaign,” says Sharon McKeown, Dominion President. “Their generosity and caring are what allow us to host a range of programs and support initiatives for our Veterans and their families across the country.”

Perhaps as a country, we should have been doing more what @PierrePoilievre did here - promoting the benefits to Americans of tariff free trade with Canada. Here’s hoping that more Canadian leaders do this.
Make sure to tell Halifax Mayor Andy Fillmore and Regional Council the kind of budget you want to see.

This Thanksgiving, as we gather with family and friends around the table, we pause to give thanks for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.
To all those currently serving, and to our Veterans: thank you for your service and sacrifice. Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!
Want Alberta to keep embracing Confederation? Listen more to people like Ian Brodie and listen less to people like Andrew Coyne. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Solutions to help Canadians
The higher the diesel prices are at home, the more Canadians pay for groceries and everything else that moves by truck.
We should not be paying 26¢/L more for diesel than Americans.
Let's cut all fuel taxes and boost refining to save you money and jobs and fuel ourselves in Canada with our own energy: conservative.ca/cpc/emergenc…

My message to the 68,000 Canadians who lost their jobs last month: Conservatives will fight for you.
Our Economic Action Plan will boost hiring and save jobs. We will unblock resources, scrap taxes on fuel and reinvestments here at home, remove red tape, and make Canada the best place in the world to hire and boost pay.
Saving money and jobs.
