Tesla VP of Hardware Engineering Lars Moravy explains to Hagerty how the Roadster borrows SpaceX cold gas thrusters to make 0 to 60 possible in 0.55 seconds.
Truly insane:
▫️ 200L carbon-over wrapped pressure vessel
behind seat holds nitrogen at 10,000 PSI
▫️cold gas thrusters push out 80 kN of thrust (equivalent to a single fighter jet engine)
▫️Tesla went with nitrogen because “it just seemed wrong to put fuel into a car” (air is ~80% nitrogen, fair enough)
▫️thrusters same system satellites use to move in space (eg. the “psh psh psh" from Apollo 13 film)
▫️currently takes 6 to 7 hours to refill all nitrogen but Tesla working for it to be 30 minutes
▫️uses leg actuators from Optimus robot to manage downforce on wing

Your govt detained me for 3 days without informing my family. The arrest itself was illegal. And then you slapped preventive detention on me which was once again deemed illegal by the high court and you don’t have an iota of shame questioning others.
Where is @abhijeet_dipke? Where is @neha_aisa?
Detaining them without disclosing their whereabouts is blatantly illegal and deeply inhumane.
The Union Government must release them immediately and stop suppressing peaceful protests. Every attempt to crush the movement will only make it stronger.
#GyaneshKumarMustGo. The Union BJP Government has no other option.

It’s not that supercomputer data centers are not in high demand, as they definitely are. However, getting money to build complex hardware systems with massive power, cooling & networking is not the same as doing it.
SpaceX has a super cracked team that is outperforming the rest of the world by an order of magnitude in mass to orbit and even we find it very difficult!

The IT job market has become incredibly tough!
Applied for nearly 100 jobs in just one week and barely received a single call.
Just 2–3 years ago, simply uploading my resume would bring 30–40 recruiter calls a week from different companies.
With 10 years of experience in Full Stack Development, this is the first time I’m experiencing something like this.
Honestly, quite shocking how drastically the market has changed. 🙂🙏🏻
