Police Arrest 22-Year-Old Man Over Viral Video Allegedly Thre@tening Christians in Enugu State, Jos
The Zamfara State Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old man, Umar Ibrahim Gandi, over a viral social media video allegedly containing threats of violence against Christians.
According to the Police, the suspect, a native of Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State, was allegedly seen in the video alongside other pupils from two Islamic schools, chanting a song calling for AK-47 rifles to attack Christians.
Speaking at a press conference in Gusau, the Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Bello, said the Command launched an investigation to identify those involved and establish the circumstances surrounding the video.
The Police said preliminary findings indicated that the video was recorded on October 23, 2026, while the suspect was reportedly on his way to Aliyu Ibn Abi Thalib Mosque.
The Command stated that investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and the alleged offences.

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested Umar Ibrahim, a JIBWIS member whose viral videos called for the annihilation of Christians during worship in churches using AK-47s.
This video shows that the JIBWIS leaders stands with him which suggest that they are accomplice of his action when charged for it when found guilty.

Ansaru Claims Responsibility for the Killing of Malam Yahaya Masussuka
Ansaru, the Boko Haram faction affiliated to Al-Qaeda has claimed responsibility for the killing of Malam Yahaya Masussuka, accusing him of being an infidel.
The group confirmed its responsibility for the killing in an audio message released today. In the recording, Ansaru said it carried out the attack at around 8:30 p.m. The speaker stated that the attack took place on Tuesday, but this may have been a mistake, as the incident occurred on Monday.
Ansaru accused Sheikh Yahaya Masussuka of opposing Islam but did not specify any particular offence he had committed. However, it condemned Masussuka's stance of promoting dialogue between followers of different religions and peaceful coexistence and indicated that this is why they attacked him.
Ansaru broke away from Boko Haram in 2012 following disagreements with the leadership of Abubakar Shekau. Since then, the group has operated mainly in northwestern Nigeria, including Zamfara, Kaduna and Niger states.
It is not surprising that Ansaru has targeted Masussuka, given that Malam Masussuka was preparing to organise a major peace conference. This may have been one of the reasons he became a target, considering the group’s opposition to peace and peaceful coexistence among followers of different religions.
